Ever since the Intuos 4 line, the quality is absolute garbage. I have one at home and work and both pens are coming apart, the wear on my 4 looks worse than my very old Intuos 3 did when I sold it. Did they change their production methods? The old tablets were bulletproof.
The drivers suck too.
wtf, these tablets used to be amazing. Now they're crap.

Yeah i love my old one, new ones are garbage.

Well, that's like just your opinion man.
- No it's fact. The 4 line is cheap flimsy crap.antagonista
- Not fact, your experience is the minority... http://www.amazon.co…albums

My pen broke a while back. I called. They said "tough shit." I went to buy a new one and there are supply shortages so everyone on Amazon is selling them at double the price. Wacom was sold out.
Garbage.

I just have to mention that I've been rocking a Wacom Bamboo tablet from travel for two years and it is holding up fine. Granted it's no pro-tablet. But it only cost 80 bucks.

- i have a wacom volito, lol.i_was
- The resolution on those suck. For 80$ it's fine, but it's weak for pro work.antagonista
- true but it still works.i_was

I've been considering moving over to a tablet/pen combo. Should I be looking for something else then? Is Wacom the only option?
- a used wacom 3 will satisfy you but the 4 & 5 are not as bad as some are sayingalbums
- they're perfectly fine devices. according to some you may need to replace the stylus at some point during its lifetime. no big dealscarabin

- the 4 is garbage. I have 2 and they are made like shit compared to the 3 and 2.antagonista

Wacom is your only option unfortunately and I think they've taken that lead for granted. Again. My less-than-one-year-old intuos 4 is in worse condition than the very old intuos 3 and 2 I used previously. The build is just crap now.

Wish I had the dosh to start a Wacom competitor.... I'm sure it would be possible to manufacture a high quality Cintiq competitor for under $1000 for 27inch.

I used my intuos 1 for about 8 years.
8 years.
It was still going strong but vanity required me to upgrade to one in a black outfit, the "Intuous 3 special edition".
I've the intuos 5 at work since this April. It's even blackier, but incredibly torn from use in the middle. Moreso than my previous ones to this day.
But they're all working just fine.
Not sure if I could say the same for a number of computers, monitors or mice I've plowed through.

I went from this:
To something so much better ten years later and which isn't supported in Catalina:
Then to this three years ago because of the touch function (what I really regret...the pen is fucking awful):
So because the last three years were a waste of my time fighting with that thing above because the pen is really shit and it's so heavy in the hand and ending up using a mouse for the first time in almost 20 years I bought this yesterday and I'm so fucking happy:
The pen has a good weight and feel and the hand movement and flow are very smooth and easy.
Really happy I must say.
I wasted three years of my life where instead of improving my skills I just stagnated or went a bit back.- can't wait to buy a new iMac (M1) and use my iPad in sidecar mode to compare things.oey_oey
- By heavy in the hand I mean the flow of the pointer. Evrytime it's near some t ing it's crazy how much strength I need...oey_oey
- ...to achieve to hit the point I want. Like it would brake and find a wall before objects. Crazy.oey_oey
- I hope Wacom doesn't cut the support on those Intuos because that would be really shitty.oey_oey
- Did someone experienced the same?oey_oey
- I had a white Graphire 4 up until 2 weeks ago, used it everyday pretty much for 15 years. Wacom stopped updating the drivers but I could still get it to work onPhanLo
- my machine. Eventually got an XP Pen Pro 15.6 tablet. It works really good and was a 3rd of the price of a Wacom equivalent.PhanLo
- had all these, currently intuos pro, it's good, try checking your settings maybe?
but once you use an iPad Pro + pencil...grafician - oh and IF Apple would release a simplified iPad 15-16" with just sidecar, no apps, just mirroring your screen + pencil they would destroy Wacom like overnight.grafician
- Yes, I have a ipad andbits crazy how wacom after all these years doesn't even come close.oey_oey
- Between an Intuos pro and a XP pen I would choose the second as well PhanLooey_oey
- I saw a video of a guy that does crazy illustration and he uses the same Intuos as the one I have.oey_oey
- Thanks grafician but I really good now. Let's see what happensoey_oey
- Why did my keyboard corrected lets to let's??oey_oey
- All this being said, all my illustrator friends went full iPad Pro real quick last yeargrafician

Just move to Huion, build may not be better but you'll get the same lifespan for substantially less.

Wacom latest driver, known issues:

All models• Straight line segments are present at the start of a stroke in some applications.
What you can do about it while we fix it: We are working with the application developers to solve the problem. If you experience this problem, check for application updates.
• You cannot use your Wacom device on your computer's login screen.
macOS security restrictions prevent your Wacom device and pen from being used on the computer's login screen. To navigate, you can use your trackpad or mouse. Or, select your user name using the keyboard's right/left arrow keys and then press Enter.

I'm running a old wacom driver that since updating the osx a while back, still 'works' - all the setting are as I last set them, but the wacom pref app doesn't work in the osx system prefs thing, so I can't tweak settings.
Not sure I should risk updating...
