A new client I got writes in LOLspeak, doesn't know how to use commas and inserts spaces before exclamation points.
It's driving me crazy and makes me wonder how he runs a semi-successful business. Is there a nice way to help him out?

Incorrect use of the word "got", plus you're missing a comma in your first sentence.
Would not hire.

Ironically, you missed a comma after the word, "commas."
- Wrong.
No need for a comma before the last item listed.Xopher - Just sayin.Xopher
- yes it is needed, look at the rules of the oxford commaalbums
- I work on large publications regularly. It's not necessary.Xopher
- I am not even a fan of the Oxford comma, but in this sentence it's required in order to make better sense.monospaced
- I think the comma is often down to discretion. Just going by my experience and telling everyone to believe :-)Xopher
- I'm commatose,utopian
- Wrong.

We also care for Spanish and Portuguese perfection in the place where I work (LATAM based agency). I consider it essential, since it is the basis of communication, and we are talking about communications companies here.

I often leave a space between a word and an exclamation mark. What are you going to do, attack me with a grill pan ?

Convince the client to add a communication style section to the brand guidelines, including preferred vocabulary, tone, and punctuation standards. Then you can point to it and say his keyboard mashing is off-brand and will be rephrased.

move on with your life...... worrying about a client's punctuation... ffs. you wanna help out a business owner? oh the poor man, i'm sure he's suffering so much. are you gonna enroll him in a community college course or something? grammar 101? his bad punctuation is probably the reason he got to the position he's in as a successful person.... he doesn't spend his time worrying so much about stupid shit.
now run along and go make your email signature look pretty.............

I learned this a long time ago at my very first design job: sometimes people succeed in spite of themselves.

Is this really what troubles you?

while you're thinking about commas and the space before the exclamation point, he's thinking about his investments, pussy, and the bigger picture.
