I don't eat any red or white (poultry) meats, but do eat fish and crustaceans. It was a day where I saw a young cow playing in the grass that reminded me of how my dog would play in the grass, and I realized I couldn't do it.
Lucky for me I can't see fish playing so they are still up for grabs, though more and more I question that decision as well.
- maybe it was heavens way to tell you that dogs are also deliciousCALLES

I'm trying to eat more vegetarian meals. The place called Native Foods has fake chicken that tastes better than the real thing.
My friend posted a pic on FB of worms in a package of salmon at the grocery store. That makes me want to skip meat completely.
- worms love veggies tooCALLES
- i love native foods. i walk to the one in culver city for lunch all the timescarabin
- fake chicken doesn't taste better than real chicken... the fact that you say that frightens memonospaced

if it walks on all fours with its back to the sun, it's food.
aside from that, enjoy your new diet and hit up lists like this when you make the initial switch to keep your body from going into withdraw / shock, causing you to want to go back to your old diet.
Protein Rich Vegetables
http://www.expertclinic.org/Prot…- what about snakes and chickens?scarabin
- i personally don't eat snakes but love chicken. either way, the quote is not mine, something i picked up in Asiaalbums
- ... where I could also buy live chickens or have it chopped up in front of me, so still food there. ;)albums
- So i'm guessing snake & chicken are obviously food, the quote answers a question for the unsure of cow, dog, etcalbums

also thinking about it this whole going vegetarian thing is a true First world issue. Many people around the world are vegetarian not by choice but they just dont have the resources we do. Maybe they manage to eat meat once or twice a year and its probably seen as heaven sent.
Just traveled with a vegan. Expect to get invited less and less to dinners. Or get invited to a vegetarian dinners that is something I would not be looking forward too *shivers
- Most cultures that are healthy have 80% veg and 20% meat.

Been vege for around 12 years now. No problems at all; every check-up I have, they say I'm in A1 condition and I am one lazy sod with little to no exercise most days. I don't miss meat at all and feel sick even smelling it nowadays. I love animals; it was a moral decision.
The food chain argument is thus, in my mind... the food chain exists out of a necessity for one species to live off of another. Eating meat three times a day every day is not necessity / it's not even close: it's gluttony / greed. Plain and simple. My best friend eats meat but only, maybe twice a week or so. He's not concerned about the moral side but gets the gluttony thing.
The food chain viewpoint I hold means that, if I needed to; and it were about survival - then I would kill an animal and eat it... but as long as I don't have to, I won't... especially if it means I'm better off and I'm not contributing to the meat industry, etc etc etc
- isn't the food chain argument about plants retaining higher energy because they get it from the sun first?doesnotexist
- then the cow eats it... then you eat the cow...doesnotexist
- Vege 23 years now. Healthy apart from inherited nonsense like hypothyroid and the odd psoriasis. Otherwise, A-ok.mikotondria3
- Most of nutrition of an animal is in the organs, Organs were more prime cut then meat back in the day.yurimon

I was a vegetarian for about ten years for the same reason Jules from Pulp Fiction was... "my girlfriend's a vegetarian which pretty much makes me a vegetarian"
