i have a canon canoscan 9000f, but have noticed a significant falloff in quality for scanning color film vs b/w. i can see in the negative there being much more information than what is being scanned, and the scanning results are choppy and underwhelming at best.

anyone have a similar experience? most of my b/w photos come out fine, although i have to adjust for darkness a little bit.

if you have scanner recommendations or similar things happen, any help is appreciated.

Can't say I have had the /exactly/ same experience. But, with my Canoscan 8800f eventually I did notice I wasn't getting quite the same results that I was used to, just seemed to go out slowly over time. I'm not whether it was just me being more and more picky or if it was actually hardware related.

Eventually I just replaced it with a Epson v750m, which gave me the results I was looking for.
