my father-in-law asked me if there's any way he could shoot video of his golf swing like this. he's wanting to be able to see the path of his club head like this. anybody got suggestions?

put a sony handycam on a tripod,
most sonys have "smth slw rec"
they even have settings on some specifically for golf swings
weird, i never used goldshot
i guess this is it
whats the shot btw, whats the time in that vid?
the response to my other post with the same name suggests...
"draw the whole swing path in after effects, then let the appearing end follow the club."
this is basically the thought i had, but haven't used AE much. he was wanting to be able to do it himself, but i think this is the route we'll have to go.
and thanks moldero, i'll mention that sony thing to him to, that's pretty cool too.
Send me the video and ill do it if you like, no charge or anything.
Hey man a quick tip.
Make a solid same size as comp. make it bright red or green or something.
drop opacity to 0
then pick up pen tool and draw path of head.
Once happy chose solid layer chose effect>render>stroke chose reveal layer, make opacity 100%, then go to end offset or whatever it is and take it from 0 and increase it to 100 at the start of the swing then reduce to 0 at end of swing then add key frames in to time it up with the swing in-between.
That'll do it :D
nice, thanks chossy. i haven't gotten into this yet, but how would i go about tracing the path of the head? do i use the pen tool and start with the first point on the first frame, then move go to the next frame (or skip a few) and make the next point? is that how it works?
just draw what you think the shape should be with a handfull of points, then go back and tap forward a few frames each time and adjust accordingly exactly like a bezier in illy. Then once you are happy slap on all those filter gubbins and smile like a mofo cause you done did it :D.
