I have this expression in InDesign defined in the Paragraph Style that automatically applies a Superscripting Character Style to numbers at the end of a word (footnote reference numbers).
(?<=\w)\d(([,-]?[ ]?[\d+])+)?\>
Problem is, the equation also superscripts numbers that are supposed to be numbers in the paragraph.
Can anyone smarter than me figure this problem out?

Try a regex generator...

- This if you have actual footnotes inserted, not fake ones...ESKEMA
- fake.
but thanks for the tip. I never even noticed that menu option. I'm going to read up on it.DrFukenhot

If you dont have 3 digit footnotes, you could find and change all the 3+ digits number to a special style, then make your fin/change on all the rest, then refind and change the special style to the original.

seriously, maybe there are a lot, but in the long run, it may prove better to just go and select every footnote number and convert it to a real footnote. You'll have a lot more control over it.
Why aren't they already styled anyway? was it stripped from placing the text? there are options for importing the text and preserving stuff like that..
