Oh Geez, Shep's take on the trial.
I'm devastated by the Zimmerman verdict of not guilty in his shooting of unarmed Trayvon Martin. Self-defense is not a suitable legal defense when Zimmerman aggressively stalked and instigated a confrontation with Martin. What if the clash had lead to Zimmerman's death... would the jury have come to the same verdict? Zimmerman was an unnecessary aggressor and created a situation that never needed to happen. Zimmerman should have been found guilty of manslaughter because it is very difficult to prove the malice required for a murder verdict. There need to be consequences for instigating a confrontation with, and then killing, an unarmed teenager. Justice was not done in this case. Please use whatever outlets you have to voice your opinion if you feel the trial result was unjust.

I've noticed - before, during and after - a pretty obvious line between liberals and conservatives. Not to say there aren't outliers - there always are - but according to my Facebook feed most people made their mind up about the trial months before it began.
That's the disgusting thing for me.
- People like that like to have their minds made up by the media. It feels good to be part of a mobLlyod
- Agreed. They watch/read their biased news that puts inflammatory wording in the articles (not subtly, I might add)identity
- Focus on you. Your family and your health. The rest is debatable or changeable.identity

I once had a gun pulled on me by a detective in an unmarked car in SF off of Van Ness by that motorcycle shop in broad daylight in front of a bunch of witnesses over a damn traffic argument, he was honking and screaming at my dad so I got out of my dads truck and walked up to his window, before I even had a chance to speak, he pulled a Beretta on me and put it right in my face. I responded by saying, "what, you gonna shoot me because someones walking up to you, you fuckin pussy asshole!" then he showed his badge and my response was "well there goes your job you fuckin pussy, you wont have that gun to shoot people walking up to you anymore"
I wonder if he shot me, if we would have gotten off as well. I was unarmed, the media could have labeled me as some punk druggie, I was young, i smoked weed and drank beer on occasion.
I called it in, then later some cops came to my house to take a report, later I got a call from some detectives asking if I wanted to press charges, I should have, but I dont like wasting time with that crap, so I told them, "Ill forget everything if you put him in a chair in the middle of a room and have all his coworkers point and laugh at him for 5 minutes" he was lucky I wasn't a fuckin asshole with nothing better to do.
the mentality of some armed individuals is crazy. too much sociopaths in our society today, they feel all god like 'n shit holding a gun. I have a crap load of guns stateside, I never got like that not even once.
- I've had a gun pulled on me before in SF too, but it wasn't by a copmonospaced
- I got robbed at gunpoint and motorcycle jacked another time in SF when I was 16moldero
- I was robbed at gunpoint on Geary between Divisadero and Broderick, a block from my apartment, in 2002monospaced

What's sad to me is innocent and unprotected people are killed everyday. When the bloods or crips do a drive by and kill a baby in it's stroller, it get's maybe a mention on the news and then it's on to the next topic. Zimmermans an idiot, obviously, but there are heinous and violent murders that happen every day that don't get the attention this case received.
