He´s really good, he won fair.
BUT he kept just barely hitting Canelo for points and then running around, I guess is tactics...
He´s an amazing fighter and will defo win his next 4 fights.
Vamos Canelo!!!! la proxima es nuestra

So in about 10 years after Mayweather retires, will he end up bankrupt?
So I should expect to see him in The Hangover Part 6?

The funny thing is that after watching MMA for a few years, you really start to (re) appreciate the art of boxing.
MMa has devolved into a stand-up contest between two shitty boxers throwing haymakers or getting the opponent down for a ground and pound. UFC especially, encourages this type of fight as it's more exciting for the fans.

that was a waste of time for everyone.

I agree with you to a degree. MMA striking is far less refined than true pugilism. But you also have different disciplines of striking in MMA - muay thai, karate, etc.
But I agree that the faux boxers *cough* diaz brothers *cough* really put a damper on the Sport at times.
However, there are still tons of talented grapplers in the MMA world who only use their striking to setup the takedown.
A great recent example was Dustin Poirer VS Eric Koch. Amazing chess match on the ground. Super fun and exciting to watch.

i read a tweet that this was the most-watched sporting event ever...
1.6 billion. can't vet this or find an actual article stating it.

canelo was a bit slow imo or floyd just too fast, that left jab comes in like lightning. either way good fight. had me at the edge of my seat. lol
i do think the garcia and mattisse fight was much better then the main event though. heard mayweather is fighting garcia next?

My take on the fight is that Canelo didn't so much lose the fight but that he couldn't win the fight. Mayweather was just too elusive, too quick but he didn't hurt canelo, was landing more punches but few were doing any real damage.

my take on how stupid this sport has become
Meayweather won the first fight, then we'll have a rematch because its just the right thing to do Mayweather will win again, then we will have a second rematch because the judges were not fair and Mayweather will win again, and then we will have rematch 3 and Canelo will win because Mayweather is just too old. This is good revenue!

I've been watching a lot of Mayweathers past fights for fun, youtube is good for that...
I forgot about the Ortiz KO when I re-watched it. It was a bit cheap and not the classiest thing in the world but great fighters like Mayweather understand the sport and take their opportunities, Ortiz had his hands down.
Also everyone said dela Hoya beat Mayweather but I didn't think so. Oscar did match him in many respects though, it was close.
- any recommendations for good fights to watch? anybody not just mayweatherlodef

I'm not a Mayweather fan in any way (I really don't like the guy at all) but you can't deny he's not great, if not the best of all time (Yes, better than Ali/Louis/Marciano). Boxers back in the day were nowhere near as good as they are nowadays (besides Ali, but let's see Ali against a Tyson or Klitscho in their prime).
He hasn't fought Pacquio (I'm a BIG Pacquio fan), but if he did and won, then it would be without question. He's undefeated AND has fought all of the best across multiple divisions (besides Pacquoi). Folks above say he can't knockout people. On the contrary, he's knocked out some big names in the biz or if he hasn't knocked them out completely, he's literally beat the shit out of them. Just check a highlight reel on YouTube. Mayweather manhandled Marquez a few years back. Marquez knocked out Pacquoi (i.e. unconscious). I'm a Pacquoi fan, but I don't think he would beat Mayweather. It would be a case of MayWeather stick and move Ali-style.
Yes, Mayweather doesn't go for the knockout all of the time but for those who appreciate the sport of boxing, you can agree that he's about as smooth and as fast as it gets, offensively and defensively. To not get hit in a boxing match against another extremely talented opponent, is a feat itself.
If he wasn't so arrogant, he'd probably have a lot more fans.
