Troll Georges strikes again.
The idea of Google getting into politics is an interesting idea however... a scary, but interesting idea.

I wish I was trolling, when you see prism and look at how much data googles sucks on all of us, their startups and latest acquisitions,
you can only the distopic future they're leading us in.google's reach is really impressing when you look at it, it's almost like they can't do no evil.., smirks

Google will control the world. Totally inevitable. Apple is content making hardware.
Currently:
Controls search, or, more specifically, controls intimate data on everyone, everywhere
Ambitious - unlike others, Google isn't afraid to aim big, really big. Look at the acquisitions over the last year...Google is going to control robots, home automation, vehicular transport, fiber optics, space. Apple only bought things immediately relevant to their hardware, extremely conservative (Google paid more for Nest than apple has paid for all of its acquisitions, combined).
Money - they will just slowing consume the options the world has, from military to home to connectivity and information
Funny, I remember a video from years ago that predicted Google's takeover (can't find it now). Amazing how much has come true.

"We've invested over a billion dollars in 15 projects that have the capacity to produce two gigawatts of power around the world, mostly in the U.S., but that's the equivalent of Hoover's Dam worth of power generation," said Rick Needham Google's director of energy and sustainability, standing along Google's solar arrays at its headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.

I just remembered this, google gave some money to WWF to test >>> http://worldwildlife.org/stories…
"Remote aerial survey systems, wildlife tagging technology and ranger patrolling guided by analytical software like the Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool (SMART) will be integrated to increase the detection and deterrence of poaching in vulnerable sites in Asia and Africa. Our goal is to create an efficient, effective network that can be adopted globally."

I still don't see Facebook surviving long term, not in its current state. Maybe it can buy its way into continued success, but that's a lot of money.
Google, on the other hand, is diversifying pretty nicely.I don't see how there will be another of either. They will get bought up before they ever make a penny, so you will never really know what the potential was.
Keep buying Google stock :-)
