I don't believe this new story about it catching fire, and the pilots trying to save it or something. It's impossible for me to believe they wouldn't have issued some kind of mayday message, or some sort of electronic alert.
- Lol...ok pilot guy.marychain
- You're aware that story was written BY A FUCKING PILOT?hereswhatidid
- Sure I am. But there's plenty of other speculation that doesn't point to that.mg33
- So the existence of other theories means this one can't possibly be correct? Jesus you guys are just praying for terrorism at this pointhereswhatidid
- terrorism at this pointhereswhatidid
- No. I'm saying any theory is totally plausible until THE EXACT REASON IS KNOWN.mg33
- No you specifically said this explanation can't possibly be correct.hereswhatidid
- I said it's impossible for me to believe it. Words are right there to the right.mg33
- the left.mg33
- haha. I hear you mg33.set

Although I will say this:
I don't like how some in the media have assumed the pilot had nefarious plans by owning a flight simulator. Apparently many pilots do, and it's not abnormal. Also, the fact that he had Indian ocean airports stored as destinations doesn't prove anything. He was probably a good pilot, well practiced and well prepared for different scenarios.
At this point, either is possible.
- Lots of comments in there refuting what the author said. They're worth reading.mg33
- Comments by random internet users, good source of infohereswhatidid
- Just because they're commenting doesn't mean they're not knowledgable. Is that the best you've got?mg33
- There are multiple holes in his theory that numerous people point out.mg33
- He was rich, it's a rich man's video game console.dbloc
- Just keeping hoping for a grand conspiracy, you seem to enjoy it more that wayhereswhatidid
- So I just said I don't like people jumping to conclusions, and that anything's possible, and that's your response?mg33
- You dont' like people jumping to conclusion? Says the guy who immediately assumed it can't be a mechanical failure?hereswhatidid

Apparently the copilot had a nut allergy.
- whoaformed
- could be fatal with all those small bags of peanutsinv
- lolohhhhhsnap
- there's no nuts on planes anymore for that exact reason.benfal99

I am surprised people are starting to talk about the cost, how the US is moving all ships to other tasks and only keeping 2 planes active.
How can we "give up"?
My God, if this was terrorism, you think it'd be in everyone's interest to find the damn plane! If they can fly a few thousand miles undetected, what's to stop someone from flying straight into the Eiffel Tower??
I still find it a little disturbing such a massive plane can go undetected for so long. There should be no possible way to turn off communication!! Why on earth would you want to turn it off??
Are the cockpits hermetically sealed? Could some gas put everyone to sleep/kill them? Seems as possible as a "fire", but again, it'd have to be instantaneous or undetectable w/o a mayday.
- nobody lives in the Eiffel Towerernexbcn
- there are lots of reasons, including the one noted in the Wired articlemonospaced

Aviation expert and former Malaysian Air Force instructor examines some theories about disappearance

New information from the Thai government bolsters the belief that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 took a sharp westward turn after communication was lost.
And it looks like that turn was no accident.
A law enforcement official told CNN Tuesday that the aircraft's first turn to the west was almost certainly programmed by somebody in the cockpit.
The official, who has been briefed on the investigation, said the programmed change in direction was entered at least 12 minutes before the plane's co-pilot signed off to air traffic controllers, telling them, "All right, good night."

My personal theory is that they flew too high and drifted out of the earth's atmosphere and is currently floating around in space.
Avoiding all that Russian space debris.- lol at russian space debrisESKEMA

It scares to me to think about all of the information people are learning about transponders, electrical systems and airplane auto-pilot shit.
