If,
I have a blog where I post pictures from various sources, from various photographers. I have like 5 years of archives.
If,
I put a "donate" button on the blog for people to send money to encourage me to keep posting.
Is there any legal flaws? Do you think someone, like one of those photographers would have a matter of lawsuite of something?

Playing devil's advocate...what you're describing is in a way like the ffffound.com and designspiration.net (s) of the world. Different visual sources and then they have advertising (via The Deck).
But yeah off of first gut reaction, the photographers could probably come after you.

Since you're not charging to view the posts, I don't think you have any legal issues. If people want to donate because they like your site, that's their thing.

I would at least get the legal from another site.
I would think that the photographers could get annoyed, unless you have written permission to profit from their work, directly (which charging to view would be that, vs. advertising where someone is paying to display their ads - opposites, really).
Dunno, I suppose if it is "donations" it is different....maybe....I still see how someone could be annoyed, though, unless it was a site of the magnitude of FFFFound (just a billion images, from a billion random sources, so no way anyone could claim a right to the traffic, but if you have, say, 5 photographers, they could easily say their work was making you money and want something)
