Hi,
I am doing a portfolio for my father in law who is an artist (painter).
I am looking for something like this:
http://www.squarespace.com/templ…
However I am hosting it and want to use Wordpress - I could do it from scratch but really don't have the time due to crazy client deadlines - just need a nice full screen Wordpress folio theme like the above - any recommendations?
Thanks in advance :)

fadein11. i'm sort of in the same position. i need to build out a gallery. well, multiple galleries and i'm not a coder.
it's my understanding that Squarespace requires that you host on their site which is expensive for just hosting in the long run. i haven't looked for the exact right wordpress template yet but i've used Salient in the past and i think they have some excellent plug and play stuff. I think Enevato is the portal for that.
a third option is maybe something like webflow or adobe muse where you can export the code and host it yourself.

Squarespace = $8/mo, hosted, no problems
Wordpress = $4/mo (or whatever) for your own hosting, update plugins yourself, fix things yourself, back it up yourself.I'll gladly pay the difference to not get called every time a goddamn plugin update breaks.
- seo on squarespace sucks ballsackstrooperbill

- Turn on 'SEO turbo' in prefsi_was
- SS - great for simple templates, don't need a web designer. I would never suggest a client go there, no need for anyone else.formed
- don't use shit plugins - they wont breakfadein11

Hi - thanks for the feedback. I am definitely going with Wordpress - I use it every day for client jobs - just don't have time to build a theme from scratch so was looking for recommendations similar to that Squarespace style which is exactly what I want. I would rather use Wordpress to achieve that as I will be hosting it and have full control with no fees (despite the service being cheap I know).
