Reliable? There isn't one. I consume a ton of news per day - at least 5 newspapers. The point is not to put all eggs in one basket. Consume something in your country then something from other part of the world. You will discover that things that people are going crazy in one part of the world is totally insignificant in another. Moreover, you will discover that there is no such thing as unbiased news source - EVERY SINGLE NEWS SOURCE HAS AN AGENDA.
What i consume on daily basis:
New York Times
The Guardian
RT
Wyborcza (Polish news paper)
Spiegel (weekly)

I agree that everyone should gather as many news sources as possible to view things from different perspectives like you said, hence why I was asking where people get their news sources from.
To both see what are the more popular sources and to also suggested stuff others might not have known about.

for 'real' journalism:
guardian
NYT
al jazeera
BBC
RTbut i try and read stuff from all 'sides' that would be biased (ie, red state and huffington post, drudge report and daily kos)

in this day and age, is it really news that newspapers all report differently based on their editorial board concerns?
i don't understand why people would pretend to have any sort of authority on information - especially if they aren't journalists - simply by saying "omg bias exists."
go back to third grade.
- Um... isn't it actually the 3rd grade attitude that searches for authority?pr2
- more the idea that simple / obvious points are somehow relevant to conversation.colin_s
- obviousness of the point is directly related to the crowd... no to be mr obvious but it's the Internets... so the expectations are low.pr2
