I need a simple, good time lapse camera for a couple of workshop-built projects coming up - have seen these puppies but no idea if they are any use or I should be looking at something else? http://www.brinno.com/html/TLC10…
Floor is yours gents and gentle-ladies....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't just about any camera be turned into a time-lapse with the right rigging?

Yeah, if your camera doesn't already have built-in time lapse settings, you just need an Intervalometer
http://www.learntimelapse.com/ti… brand intervalometers
- and a tripodmonospaced
- and a power supply and a big sd carduan
- right, those are a givenmonospaced

You want a time lapse of four weeks? So you want to put a camera outdoors for four weeks?!
If not, here is how I did my time lapse videos:
- Canon PowerShot s5is
- CHDK alternative Firmware (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK...
- external PSU
- tripod, obviously
- Convert JPGs to videos with this free Lightroom addon: http://gwegner.de/lrtimelapse/Video Example:
- Camera in a workshop not outdoors. Dig you're MacGyver approach but mate, I just want the simple life. Find camera, place camera, enjoy footage..Beardy
- ....place camera, enjoy footageBeardy
- see abovemonospaced
- ah c'mon it's not rocket science, just a bunch of files you put on a sd-card, saves you some dollars for the intervalometermekk
- and you need a tripod and an external psu anywaymekk

just about any canon P&S camera can be rigged for this with the CDHK
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDKI'd worry about accumulated dust on lens over that long.

even the iphone can be used for this provided you can have it powered.

I just worked on a corporate vid for Canon, a couple of day's shooting on a C500 with the works, and some time lapse done on a GoPro. The GoPro was set up inside the building's reception, in cafe areas and outside at the entrance. The lighting across these varied hugely but all the time lapse stuff is superb.
