Looks like they've brought the windows aero look (translucent glass) as seen on the iPhone swipe up settings screen, to the desktop Yosemite os. The implementation looks ok though, but would like to see more.
- Doesn't look like the wallpaper is seen through, but the finder window contents is blurred and opaque behind toolbarHombre_Lobo
- I think it's more an extension of what you see in iOS7ukit2

The new OS X looks really nice.

I was a die hard Apple fanboy for ages, I have or have had tons of their products but when they released the 4S I started to see the whole "Lightbulb Theory" behind it all.
Then they put out the new Macbook Pro's where you couldn't just throw in a normal 2.5 HD (or two with the SuperDrive Caddy) and that was it.
Now I just want a strong custom Hackintosh. Everything else I'm done with.
Apple died with Jobs. Viva Android and its software freedom.
- lolernexbcn
- I have a Nexus 5 for development and even used it as a primary phone for two weeks and I still can't get into it.rosem
- terrible ux, for now imoprophetone
- Took me a month to get comfortable with Android from IOS but I wouldn't go back now. Esp the install freedom.sem
- thanks for sharing. now go post on android threads.inteliboy
- amazes me the amount of people who need to voice their opinion on all things apple.inteliboy
- you don't see google/android threads clogged up by apple fanboys.inteliboy
- Clearly you didn't read the start of my post. Stop being a post nazi :P Someone can praise other things in a post.sem
- ha yeah sorry. overreaction. hadn't had my coffee. -_-inteliboy
- haha understandable then good sirsem
- i hate Android so much!benfal99
- Completely agree Sem. Android is superb, anyone who can't get good to it is not intelligent enough to customise it.set
- Agree about Apple too, it's become apparent just how influential Jobs was.set
- Apple will go through the dark ages like it did when Jobs wasn't around before. Each time its done well = Jobs.sem
- So, how much time? People have been saying this for 4 years, and still Apple is doing fine.monospaced
- You say they're doomed. When, I just want to know when to sell my stock.monospaced
- < doing fine on past innovations - still waiting for a new product - all they do is a french polish on old shit.fadein11
- Fadein, your facts are not wanted here. These people care for brand not tech.sem
- I'm just curious. Are you talking 6 months sem, or more like 6 years? When will Apple be a non-player?monospaced
- ArmandoEstrada0
So you left apple because they aren't using outdated spinning drives? Really?
- < This guy is unaware of 2.5" SSD hard drives. Try harder at being a smart ass next time.sem
- And I didn't "leave" Apple. I still use Macbook, iMac, Apple TV etc. But I don't support them like a fanboy anymore.sem
- he's not a fanboy anymore. you didnt' read the newspapers?benfal99
- Exactly! that shit was front page news!!!sem
- fadein110
Yosemite looks like a minor skin update - what are the new features?
- ernexbcn0
This guy did Flappy Bird on Swift already, lol
- sem0
Agree with Fadein11, I'm not seeing any features worth the update risk then finding out plugins and some software are not compatible yet.
Some of the features are cool, but most you can already do better on 3rd party software (i.e Path Finder > Finder). Its the same as jailbreaking IOS. You then get all the cool dev stuff that Apple are like "Oh yeah, thats pretty cool, lets add that in the next update"
- mekk0
Apple please:
- Give me back full color bars on tagged files, not this tiny dot, also when I click 'green' on an orange file, switch it don't add it!
- Give me back the pink desktop icon in Finder, can't find shit since Mavericks
- Don't make the 'Name' column in finder 20000000px wide anymore, remember the size please...and I'm happy again! :)
- sem0
^ Buys Apple product that has flaws previous version didn't have, does not complain, too loyal to the brand lol
- to be fair, opinions vary and many things aren't considered 'flaws' by othersmonospaced
- Everything is flawed if you're negative sem.ideaist
- I think we can all agree IOS6 had some pretty noticeable flaws? lol. I'm not just being negative, I got facts.sem
- Apple flaws...facts not opinions: http://www.theguardi…sem
- still, they might be based on opinion over actual software flaws... have they addressed the issues?monospaced
- oh those flaws, yeah, that's relevant to the topicmonospaced
- all it does is show that Apple's never been perfectmonospaced
- Obviously no company is perfect. Its like Jesus...I don't have a problem with him, its his followers.sem
- Mention a flaw or fault (like the tag one above) and fans defend Apple as if they are on the payroll lol.sem
- cannonball19780
All computer... Are... Just computers.
- wait...so there are two computers inside my single computer?! AMAZING!!!sem
- inteliboy0
No product is flawless. Though flaws in Apple's products are exaggerated so much it's mind boggling.
Using a mates galaxy phone at work and I couldn't believe how clumsy the UI felt, hard to describe, but all jagged and not smooth. And the icons are awful, like a phone OS from the 90's. And the actual physical phone... BAD. In fact I could tear it to shreds, but don't, and no one really seems to bother to complain unless it has the word "Apple" in it.
- Pretty sure it didn't feel like an OS from the 90s. And you can customise Android a lot more than IOS :)sem
- Btw, Galaxy releases tend to also have better spec than whatever iPhone is out at the time.sem
- But hey, why should we care about the spec of our phones? why justify the price when it has an Apple logo!!!sem
- Galaxy phones all superb apart from the bloatware samsung puts on them - customised they kick butt.fadein11
- specs aren't the end-all... they are glitter, but only useful if they translate to user benefitsmonospaced
- and it looks like the specs for the new iphone as promised by the sdks is really, really impressivemonospaced
- samsungs are pretty awful mainly for the rapeware that they ruin android with. Stock Android KitKat is where it's at.set
- lol @ Mono, i think higher def screen and much better camera etc are specs that benefit the user no?sem
- Lets not forget Samsung used to make a ton of parts for iPhones. They most probably know their shit.sem
- Yeah, those specs are good for the user. I said they were.monospaced
- animatedgif0
Did they change the shift key design yet?
- set0
lol @ all the 'wow why do you have an opinion?' comments.
Get a fucking brain moran.
- ernexbcn0
Hey guys let's complain about free stuff.
- osx "free" with purchase of Apple computer. Have to illegally hack to install on Hackintosh.sem
- And yes, we should complain if they can't fix simple things like the tags issue. Minor to some, Workflow must for others.sem
- I thought Apple died with Steve and you moved to Android...ernexbcn
- it's like $29monospaced
- you say it like we should be grateful Apple want to justify the price of their machines lol. Do customers not deserve updates and support?sem
- Android on my phone yes. But newsflash...Apple computers don't run on IOS.sem
- keep fighting the good fight thenernexbcn
- It's only illogical apple fanboys than detest any kind of criticism of an apple product. To every else with half a brain it's perfectly normal, set
- ...perfectly normal practice.set
- Apple deserves plenty of critique. But it seems sort of unfair considering the shit their competitors are doingmonospaced
- Regardless, it's just technology and it works for me.monospaced
- shit, I have a blackberry z10 for work and it works finemonospaced
- sorry, what doesn't work with the competition?formed
- set0
^ You realise these are tools that most of us use on a daily basis. You think everyone should just gormless accept without review or opinion, without discussing or criticising in any way, do you... ?
What kind of moronic half-witted full-retarded viewpoint is that?
Bizarre.
- What amazes me is how people ignore tech advances out of brand loyalty and pay more for less.sem
- randommail0
I'm still on Mountain Lion. I'm content with it.
- Does the job and runs apps Maverick can't. I don't understand why they cut app support?sem
- That said I don't understand why they limit new feats to new machines also. I.e Airplay.sem
- Oh no wait, I do understand...its so you buy the latest machine even though yours does the same with 3rd party apps.sem
- I think it has something to do with ensuring a smooth experience on the hardwaremonospaced
- Im still on Snow Leopard on my home machine. My work computer however, ill be upgrading.desmo
- That's impossible, they told us Mavericks was on ALL the macs out there =)zarkonite
