    • Would love to hear your thoughts on the finished thing. Its weird to read back through the "Im Making a Video Game" thread and see the awesome initial feedbackmantrakid

    EuroGamer.net reviewed it!

"Cosmochoria is an exploration game in its purest form. A dozen hours in, many of its deepest mysteries continue to elude me, but it doesn't really matter. "In our hearts, we hope we never discover everything." E.O. Wilson, the great biologist and ant expert said that. I think he would have liked Cosmochoria just as much as I do."

Hey~ I got this game when it was 50% off. Played it a couple times before I got the grasp of it, but then I 'beat the game' yesterday. The final boss anyway. Several things I still haven't unlocked. There was a worm who told me to bring him "all the poops" but now he's gone. No idea.

BTW, chill music. My gf said she really liked it.

    • Shit thanks dude! What do you think overall? Anything you wish was different? I realize my time for first impressions is gone, but still interested in tweaking!mantrakid
    • Well I eventually found myself wondering how I will unlock the few things I haven't unlocked yet, and then I gave up. Wish there was more help there.sarahfailin
    • Other than that a great game! Had fun playing it, learning little exploits, like that sometimes you can shoot while planting and being invisible ninja guysarahfailin
    • I would also speed-plant planets by just dropping tons of seeds and letting the pirhana plants grow themselves and taking off to other planets, coming back l8rsarahfailin

so i played this a little bit over the summer and streamed it on twitch and its a lot of fun. it looks great, I found myself taking screen shots of the planets i made, you seem to have developed your own recognizable style i think you can do a lot with.

Since you are mostley a one man operation I am wondering what you would be capable of doing with a larger crew of animators and programmers. If i was going to provide some general criticism its just that it feels under-realized at parts. Some of the enemies look like cut outs where just those small animated details would do a lot to bring them out on the screen, something a lil help would be able to fill in. Maybe you can keep updating it I don't know.

One quality that surprised me was the writing. Its well done and it adds a very nice dimension and atmosphere. Sometimes games over look the writing but you used it to add a lot to the game. I think we talked about the combination of Zelda like RPG story and space shooter while in development and that is a really cool combo.

I hope you consider it a success, you know you have a good game when you have fan art on the steam page.

    • also there's one really dark ambient type track in the game id love a copy of its a beautiful songlodef
