It's about the "lumens" be sure to get the highest possible within your price range.

Problem with the mini projectors is that they don't put out a ton of light. If you actually want to use it for work and movies, you're gonna have to get 1500+ lumens, minimum.
- and of course always have a dark room to watch it, and be ready for the low resolutoinmonospaced

I only want something portable so I can get rid of my imac, and get a laptop and be more mobile for watching larger movies.

yeah, it'll be hard to have a pico projector @ 1080p,
try looking at benq projectors, they are cheap but really good- Epson is good too, and 720 is probably enough for quality.monospaced

with the right adaptors, you can connect any standard projector to a Mac, just like any monitor
- it's hard to get a mini portable that does 1080 though... usually have to go for a larger model for that resolutionmonospaced

Is there a mini portable projector that connects to a mac? Something that can project fairly large (42" at least) with great image quality?
