Crane games, cut the rope games, key games, etc. are all basically randomized so that it's only possible to win 1 in x,xxx number of times, with the chance based on the cost of the game and the expense of the prize.
If you want to win a crane game or one of the expensive prizes from those little snip the string games, keep an eye on the machine. The prize will only be gettable after a certain number of attempts, so that the machine owner is guaranteed to win a profit.
The games aren't RIGGED per se, but you're guaranteed to lose if not enough people have played. That's why the crane hand is too weak to pick anything up, and why the snipper/key/whatever always misses.

To understand the problem, it is worth first being aware that Deutsche Telekom (DTAG), as one of the largest Internet service providers in the world, sets a precise framework for the routes through which the subsidiaries belonging to the company group can direct their Internet traffic, together with all other similarly operating global multis. This is why the absurd situation can occur, that although Cloudflare is available via a direct port in the local dataplex belonging to a telecom provider, CF traffic still takes place via a Level3 connection for all telecom operators.
And this connection is congested from time to time, especially in the evening hours, and the logs show that the traffic always goes through an international line, even if someone happens to open a website hosted in the country.
Long story short if you're a DT (or one of DT's subs) customer, and your connection turns shit from time-to-time its because telekom is forcing traffic to a slower direction to access the CF servers.
