I've gone from the optimism and joy of Biden's obvious win over the weekend, to sheer disdain and worry for how Trump is going to straight up fuck everything to hell in defeat.
The people he's firing, the massive arms deal he just announced to the UAE, which is probably why Marc Esper was fired... the wholesale steamrolling of the transition process... the plan to start up a Trump super-pac to continue being a force in politics after he's shown the door... the way he will troll Biden and everyone else from the sidelines trying to raise hell...
This sucks to the n'th degree. What a swing of emotions the past week has been.
- Are you trying to say that Trump is Terrorising America?SlashPeckham
- Make sure to also credit every single person that voted for himR_Kercz
- Same.monospaced
- He lost but he's far from getting away. Except if he made a big mistake and have to be ''removed'' from society ...Bennn
- *makeBennn
- yup, he's not going away like a miracle ;)renderedred
- It's just such a gut punch on so many levels... the supporters who let themselves be victimized and taken advantage of... the people who celebrate it...mg33
- The fact that "normal" will not return to politics for YEARS as long as you have people like him pulling even the smallest string.mg33
- Yeah, we had a weekend to celebrate, now we still have to fight. This will be the most destructive lame duck session in history.garbage
- If he runs again in 2024 and wins (not far fetched), we will be dealing with this guy in the news everyday for the next 8+ years. Think about that!yuekit
- He's also hundreds of millions in debt and has a litany of lawsuits to contend with once he's out of office. I'm sure he'll get his comeuppance.FNP14
- yuekit, that would make 12 years+ of dealing with himBennn
- FNP14 - which is why the UAE arms sales thing is so troubling. Not far fetched to think he's doing stuff like that to make money on the side.mg33

I mean we knew it would happen, but for the love of God, just concede lol, it's embarrassing. A void of dignity.

I don't like to hear from him or think of him anymore. Let him disappear into nothingness with disgrace & shame - and drown under the weight of being the worst possible kind of human filth ever existed. We'd already lost too much time & progress - in every possible field to improve as people / nation. It will, however take a heck of a lot to redo that transition into a better world for everyone - domestic and international. Politics aside, I still have faith for a better world - being good and decent must still mean something. If any of us would ever lose that light, we'd be destined to be stuck in the dark and we'd deserve it.

- Agreed.
Any way to keep a thread, but to shut down the ability to post in it?
That way, we could let the thread die (at some point) without outright killing it.Continuity - The media has been hanging on Trump's every action/word for the past 4 years, either through support (right) or revelling in the car crash (left)BaskerviIle
- I worry that they will continue to give him the oxygen of publicity even after he's out of office (which is just what he craves).BaskerviIle
- I worry that they will continue to give him the oxygen of publicity even after he's out of office (which is just what he craves).BaskerviIle
- The only way to truly get rid of him is to ignore him and not reward his actions with coverage. I can't see that happening sadlyBaskerviIle
- @Basker - Sadly, that's the reality & it'll stay that way for a while. @Cont I believe time is the only healer.********

North Carolina called for Trump...I assume there's no fraud there?
Arizona...Trump gaining there as well. But no fraud as well?
Only in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada...
What an embarrassment.

Either Trump is planning a coup or he's wasting a huge amount of the public's time and money pretending he didn't lose the election
- something will happen, it can't go like this for too long, its a shame and an ambarassment for the USBennn
- A coup requires a military, and the US military will absolutely, positively not go along with it. They'll be the ones zipping up the body bags.mg33
- But all of this is incredibly disturbing. They're up to something, and any American silently watching and not caring is complicit.mg33
- Go check out the un-American people over here - https://www.godlikep…mg33
- Well he did just fire a lot of the military leadership including Defense Secretary etc
https://twitter.com/…yuekit - I agree its hard to imagine anyone going along with an actual coup but also kind of raises the question of WTF is going on hereyuekit

I think there's things going on here.
1. The campaign is SO broke, they're raising money under the guise of a "electoral fraud legal expenses" but, as it says on the donation request emails, the funds can also be used to pay down campaign debt.
2. Trump can play the aggrieved man that didn't lose the election fair and square. He can play the "I was robbed" card to maintain the illusion that he isn't the biggest fucking loser the world has ever seen.
3. The GOP can also use this as their "Russia, Russia, Russia" for the next 4 years in a veiled attempt to throw obstacles at every Biden opportunity.
- Three things going on.BusterBoy
- And a 4th thing. R's need to position themselves for the GA Senate runoff. Need to keep the base fired up.BusterBoy
- The RNC has already started laying off it's election workforce. The Trump Campaign will stop writing checks for Campaign Staff on the 15th...jonny_quest_lives
