It's more clear than ever that nothing will stick to Trump. I don't see a world where he isn't the 2024 nominee for the Republicans.
Question: how could his base ever be deterred from voting for him? The more I think about it, the more I think it will require fighting fire with fire – some outrageous conspiracy theory that convinces his base that he's actually been on the other side the whole time
- He will lose again and, bigly!nbq
- Sounds right. And it sounds like great subject matter on YouTube - asking his base what it would take.canoe
- "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?"
-Don Trumpletterhead - @letterhead: that quote is what came to mind, it becomes more and more realistic all the time.BaskerviIle
- The only thing that would really hurt him is if Tucker completely turned. That would be fun.formed
- I could see that world happening, if Trump gets hit with more charges and Republicans start to decide he's damaged goods.yuekit
- A couple months ago DeSantis was briefly leading him the polls, so his base is willing to abandon him under certain circumstances.yuekit
- I disagree with your premise. He's never been closer to being imprisoned for crimes. The status of being above the law is eroding very fast and ...CyBrainX
- ... the cases ahead are a lot more serious.CyBrainX

The American media all along has taken an incredibly weak approach to Trump. He isn't actually some kind of invincible genius. If nothing else just point out his weird orange skin, fake hair and laugh him out of the room. Explain to viewers the 10,000 or so lies he's told, his incredible hypocrisy and contempt for his own voters and then cut his mic.
All along the media has had the ability to do this but they apparently prefer to still keep Donald Trump alive as a public figure because he makes them money. The Trump candidacy (and presidency) was a massive bonanza for the news media and possibly even saved many organizations from going under.
- Fortunately the legal system doesn't have a similar conflict of interest and so that may eventually bring him down.yuekit
- That interview is gross. Leslie Moonves is very rich, he could at least talk about the jobs Trump's media circus created or all the bills it paid of his staff.doggydoggdog

I can understand wanting to elect a leader with a vocabulary like yourself and someone who gives a big FU to young "woke" liberals like AOC who are lied about and vilified on Fox News.
But I can't understand how you watch Trump and think he's doing a competent job.
There's so many conservatives out there who actually try to work and aren't egomaniacs.

I just noticed that this thread was started by bad mouthing "America" from a Canadian.
What happened to your country? I drove through Windsor, Sarnia, Sault Ste. Marie last year and it was depressing AF, like driving through Flint, MI. Seemed like meth and pills have taken over entire cities.
- In Chatham, ON here; huge drug and homeless problem.
Sign of the times / snuck up on rural Ontario and (from what I understand) Canada.ideaist - It's so sad. Windsor used to be lit up at night, full of clubs and bars and food and asian babes. Now it looks like something out of the eastern bloc circa 80scanoe

Fuck right off with this nonsense.

Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the far-right Oath Keepers militia, was sentenced on Thursday to 18 years in prison for his conviction on seditious conspiracy charges for the role he played in helping to mobilize the pro-Trump attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
The sentence, handed down in Federal District Court in Washington, was the most severe penalty so far in the more than 1,000 criminal cases stemming from the Capitol attack — and the first to be increased for fitting the legal definition of terrorism.
It was also the first to have been given to any of the 10 members of the Oath Keepers and another far-right group, the Proud Boys, who were convicted of sedition in connection with the events of Jan. 6.
(FYI: According to Sky News, in 1993, Rhodes accidentally dropped his .22 caliber pistol and shot himself in the eye. While this led to him using a prosthetic eyeball, he sometimes also chose to wear an eye patch - fucking idiot, good thing it wasn't a rock)

- Will Trump pardon him if he's elected?fooler
- His eye socket got infected b/c of poor hygiene so he can't get a glass eye - typical incel. Plus he shot his eye out when employed as a gun instructor.whatthefunk
- And his sentence was enhanced b/c the crimes were terrorism-related - the federal judge has called them what they are, TERRORISTS!whatthefunk
- That’ll be the last guided tour he goes onGnash
- And DeSantis is already talking pardons. Surely Trump will jump on that at some point. If the GOP gets elected our country will be run by terrorists.formed
