As if this couldn't get any uglier and more frightening, Trump is now proclaiming that the special counsel investigation is unconstitutional. Rudy G. is now asserting that Trump can pardon himself, and that Trump can't be indicted for anything. Basically that he's above the law.
I know I'm a broken record, but can you even f'ing imagine the anger if Obama had said or done any of these things????
I keep wondering what message, if any, is going to resonate with his base to get them to see this insanity for what it is: It's a power grab for absolute power, and for a president to be above the law. For his family to rake in money off the federal government.
The only message and tactic I can think of is to tell these people that there's one reason the Trump cabal keeps getting away with this: because they let them. They are being taken advantage of on a daily basis, because the administration thinks so little of them and understands how gullible and apathetic they are. Basically, most of them are just dumb, disconnected, and easily manipulated.
Do you think that would resonate with people? To find the right simple words to tell them that the only reason this chaos continues is because their cluelessness keeps fueling the fire? I expect some people would feel insulted, but maybe their pride would take over and they'd say "you know what, yeah, I do see how they think I'm stupid!"
