This could be a v.interesting development.
"Khoi Vinh, former design director for the New York Times and mainstay of the US design scene, is joining Adobe’s New York office to work on new software projects for designers.
As well as being named one of the 50 most influential designers in America by Fast Company, Vinh also developed the Wildcard browser and is a well-known blogger.
Vinh says he is joining Adobe’s team in New York to work alongside the company’s VP of products for mobile and community Scott Belsky. Vinh says “[We will work] on a number of new software initiatives for designers – which are going to be awesome.”

Ban design on QBN... Ban design on QBN... More bullying, more casual racism on QBN... Ban design on QBN!

I still never figured out what Khoi Vinh has designed and or what makes him special, could anyone share some links to his work and not his blogs. thanks
- he had a great blog about his dog and NYC and working at the NYTimes but yep - you may have a point. fuck him - bring on the QBN bullyfest!fadein11
- It was a serious and thoughtful question, why the snarky sarcasm?utopian
- I would just like to see Khoi Vinhs body of work, portfolio, innovations, etc...utopian

he did NYT.com, best (and often also first) newspaper site that made good stuff with webtechnology.
and nyt.com was and is still a refence to newspaper online design.
like the apple.com for tech brands / shop sites.it's one of those sites you look at when designing something, because they are the ones that invented things, user experiences that feel right.
- yep said that earlier.fadein11
- sorry yes I agree - after reading what you said properly.fadein11
- I didn't know the name, but read he was design responsible at nyt in first post:)uan
- he redesigned all/most of NYT's digital output along with strategy and made a great job of it for the time. was a pivotal momentfadein11
- in digital history for 'old' media.fadein11
- The NYT still looks like shit, and its always been difficult to read with its 7pt fonts.utopian
- And what is so innovative about the NYT?
usatoday.com, vice.com, medium.com, theintercept.com are much more innovative than the NYT.utopian - thy all came after nyt, don't know about theintercept. he brought also animated infographics in and single page reports with animations and videosequences.uan
- Did he create & innovate the infographics? Or was it being in the "right place, at the right time"?utopian

if he is able to make adobe develop the apps and tools that provide interaction at the level he can envision, it's a win.
