Myself and wifi are here right now and have a few tours to do like the usual blue lagoon and northern lights. But what else does this place offer. Any hidden gem bars, places to eat, shop, eat shark? Cmon Icelandic QBNers. Let's ave it!

Rent a car and go drive out of the city. We went to the Witchcraft and sorcery museum, among other places.
About three hours away. The proprietor makes a mean cod.
We went to these places in Reykjavik:
The City Hall area:

Iceland is my favorite place on Earth.
I went there in 2011 and I'm always reading stuff about Iceland. I did the full Golden Circle road.
It's indescribable.
I'm totally in love with this country.
I will go back for sure.

If you have a extra day over I would highly recommend renting a car and taking the ferry to Vestmannaeyja. One of the most amazing places I've ever visited!

If you're super into music, I've heard there are some great record stores there. I wasn't buying records at the time I was there, but I do now and I think I'd go apeshit there.

Oh, and be sure to go to the hot dog place.

You can buy those at the airport too. They're delicious.
- i've read it moved. Too many tourists.. Info to be confirmed.Ben99

Rent a car, pick a direction and drive outside of the city (gps helps).
You can hit many of the same spots the tours go within the same stretch of road but at your own pace.

I just bought tickets to go to Iceland in December. So damn cheap. $603 for 5 nights at the OK Hotel and that includes roundtrip flight from San Diego. This thread is making me really excited. What else did you discover citizen_h? Is there any kind of craft brew scene? I'm not sure what we are getting into, but hot springs will be involved.

It's $150 to fly from Toronto; we're thinking of going for a weekend at the end of summer.
