Linen Funerary Pallc. 17th century
99 x 208cm printed linen pall decorated with skull and crossbones. Larger skulls form the pattern of a cross. In the gussets are smaller skulls, and the Christogram ‘IHS’ which denotes the first 3 letters of Jesus’ name in Greek (ΙΗΣΟΥΣ). The border features a floral motif.
