Adobe CC pricing

So I'm noticing that in Canada we have no choice but to pay in US$ which right now is not so good. I'm wondering what people are paying these days in the US and Canada. I know in places like the UK and Australia they are getting gouged as well. and Adobe doesn't give a f*ck. if they keep this up people might end up finding a hack to the cloud.

I don't consider £40ish pounds a month getting gouged for access to nearly all the tools of my trade. Why do so many designers whine about paying a small amount for essential software - add £40 on to a client job each month if it bothers you!

- exactly. No probs giving shit to big corps but I don't think it's bad.MrT

USD -> CAD exchange is totes ridiculous at the present moment
- I was referring to European pricing he mentioned, been other discussions on this in the past and a lot of whining.fadein11

$50 per month in the US.
- monNom0
Maybe because they've raised the price 50% since introduction? Now $75 a month (month to month), and I'm not seeing a lot of compelling new features...
Try some new software if you want to get rid of the CC tax. Lots of good stuff coming out right now.

- Price hasn't changed at all for me in UK since I signed up 2 years ago.fadein11
- $75 dollars - £51. Still cheap for latest versions of around 25 apps plus updates plus typekit etc. (not that I use that often)... it's a v.low business expensefadein11
- Cheaper if you do monthly on a year contract, isn't it?ETM

1$ USD
=
0.70$ CADAt the moment. Wich is very shitty.
I really hate the price Adobe choosed for CC. I hate em.
- Ben990
And what I hate the most is we cannot create our own package of apps... Its everything OR Photoshop and Lightroom....
I would like to pay only for the apps i want and get a smaller monthly price...
- It would be better if the 1 app plan meant you could just have 1 installed at a time, and not have to pick only 1 to have.ETM

Adobe is selling virtual data, they have no production expenses, like if they were making computers... They could have easily put the CC at 20$/months and they would still make ocean of cash.
- if they quadrupled their price next month it would suck, but most of us would pay it.moldero
- Nah. CS6 can be reinstalled easily enough.ETM
- Hell, for most day-to-day I could go back to CS2 or CS3.ETM
- Kinda true... I'm using Photoshop CS4 at work without any problems...Ben99
- no updates for anything below CS6, though. makes upgrading OS a gambleGnash

Much like the weather, I feel this is out of our control transmission.
We either decide we need or want said service.
They have a price affixed to it.
The Canadian dollar is the real issue here; context: http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/…
So what made us prosperous these past few years (oil) is now crippling us; live by the sword, die by the sword.
I've tried the alternatives as monNom suggested and they are getting incredible viable, but we are creatures of habit.

AU$75 /month which is about the same as the US at current rates.
I bet it'll be a fucking bargain by the end of 2017!

Coming soon... Google Photoshop and Google Illustrator on Creative Drive (Free)
- what?Ben99
- I could see this happening.section_014
- I'd be interested in that :)exador1
- fuck trusting Google with that kind of shitmonospaced
- You have Adobe stocks too, Mono :)ETM

I'm looking at their plans..
Single App - Photoshop = pre-paid 239.88$/year
Photography (Photoshop + Lightroom = 119.88$/yearwhat the fuck... make no sense
- Ben990
that thread made me think...
since i moslty use Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom and Dreamweaver... I think i will switch my CC membership to the Photoshop + Lightroom plan for 9.99$/month instead of the 58$/month i have right now...
By the way, with the shitty Canadian dollar right now, the 58$USD membership cost me 82$ fucking Canadian dollars! Thats waaaaay too much.
I will t0rr3nt CS6 and install a c4acked version to get Dreamweaver and Acrobat pro and Illustrator.
Fck that sh1t!
- have fun with your outdated ass softwaremonospaced
- using CS4 at work and have zero problem. Plus the software are super light compared to the new CCBen99
- It makes so little difference. I work between CS5.5 and CC all the time and the only really issue is remembering to save down the CC stuff.ETM
- There is so little day-to-day features in CC for most workflows that are THAT great.ETM
- totally. we always use the same tools since years...Ben99
- I kept using my CS3 at work even as they upgraded to CS5.5 and CC... Didn't miss a thing. It was actually a blessing to be able to support legacy flash content.monNom
- ...which CS5+ would absolutely mangle and make un-usable.monNom
- I even have an old copy of PS7 at home. Not missing anything when I use it.monNom
- That's 14 years of updates that are of dubious utility for our workflow.monNom

but as a comparison netflix charges 7.99 if you are in the US. And in Canada they charge $7.99 in CAN$. Not US$. Apple iCloud 1TB is US$9.99 and CAN$12.99. Slight change but with the dollar is cheaper than paying US$.
not sure about other digital pay series like dropbox, google drive, spotify etc.. I pay $10/month CAN for dropbox.
