Donate it to a kindergarten or an elementary school and monitor closely to make sure the money is used for something valuable to the kids (computers/ipads? furniture? science/art field trips? books? sports equipment?)
I bet the feeling of supporting someone else's upbringing could be rewarding...for life.

Take 10k out for yourself. Get a nice trip for memories (if you have someone to take with you) and get a nice watch (it'll last a lifetime).
Invest the rest...slowly...this market is all over the place, but a reasonable place to start. Make sure to diversify, build that foundation and add to it over the next year to dollar-cost-average in.
- interesting "get a nice watch"... kind of like that.bklyndroobeki

No need to waste money on a watch.

10,000 worth of power ball tickets? could be the best investment you ever made!

seriously though, smart and fun could go in two different directions or align themselves quite nicely depending your value system.
if you earned the money maybe treat yourself to exploring a new hobby or investing in that idea you always wanted to build and patent.
if you received the money as some form of charity perhaps use that portion creatively toward a charitable cause that only you could uniquely orchestrate.
10k may not buy you much long-term happiness but it could set several less-fortunate people up for a while.

Some ideas...Travel, buy some art, help fund some cool projects, make sure parents are doing okay if not pay some of their debt or sponsor some young people who need equipment to work, lots of good can be done.
