'Masculine' branding

Looking for examples of 'masculine' type branding...either web or App. When I say masculine, I mean target audience being construction/trade (builders, plumbers etc).

Plaid.

The brand at hand, is looking to use plaid as a compliment to their merchandise. They're touching on a London theme. Which at this point means nothing to me as I wouldn't be able to tell the difference in plaids unless they smacked me in the face with loud colors. I'm sure someone from the UK could spot a differentiation in the layout and colors of plaids.. even if there are any. So, are there any rhyme and reason besides some entity branding a certain configuration and colors?
