What's the quickest way of opening about 500 photos within sub folders, and converting them to 300dpi, cmyk and saving them as tifs in a designated folder?
- HAYZ1LLLA3
Actions
- pinkfloyd1
I'm trying this:
1. Record the action (image size, covert to cmyk and save as tif in specific folder.
2. Automate batch process, including sub folders.
- fingers crossedpinkfloyd
- Should be fine.nb
- stuff happened, but can't find all the images it saved. I specified the destination to save as tiff in actionspinkfloyd
- ah it did workpinkfloyd
- cool :)sted
- I recommend don't save the "save" action in the action... If you have, make you you check overwrite save action so you can choose distination with out hiccup.pango
- no hiccups were experienced but we appreciate your concernspinkfloyd

Tomorrow, i'd like to do a quick retouch on these photos. Thinking actions, and auto levels?
- I hope that you don't want to retouch the cmyk images with actions and auto levels :) what I use is the gettotallyrad pack and color efex pro.sted
- are those free? working on a mac and want to do something on the fly tomorrowpinkfloyd
- color efex works great in batch processingsted
- and it's free :)sted
- cool, i'll check it out tomorrow, thankspinkfloyd

Is there a quick way to import all these images into InDesign with each photo placed in there own picture box sized at 100%?
- You want contact sheets? PS.
File > Automate > Contact Sheet IIHAYZ1LLLA - 100% of the photo? Or the page?
This thread is called photoshop question!!pango - Starting to sound like you should just use Lightroom.pango
- Photos sized at 100%, trying to put a quick photo book together in indesignpinkfloyd
- Can't use contact sheets since I want to design it.pinkfloyd
- Well that's gonna get tricky. Let's hope all your images are the same size.
http://indesignsecre…pango - Haha, yup, Lightroom does all these things quite easily, it's really made for exactly this type of batch processingformed
- The pango link above seems to have worked, thanks!pinkfloyd
- Pango link always work!pango

Does indesign place images at 100% by default?
- yesmonospaced
- so, say your images are 4x6, regardless of dpi pixel resolution, they will place at 4x6monospaced
- thanks!pinkfloyd

Instead of using the frame box, i'm placing all the photos in manually. This way I don't have to resize the boxes.
- monospaced0
If you're in InDesign, you use Place and select all the images at once, you can place them one by one on each page with a single click each.
Set the margins so that they frame the image size, and just click on each top-left corner to get it placed correctly, and you theoretically can make short work of it.
- "make short work of it"pinkfloyd
- Yeah, that's what i'm doing, thankspinkfloyd
- you're welcome! :)monospaced
- pinkfloyd0
- not that I know of; you just have to avoid that fucking circle shit (i hate that thing sometimes)monospaced
- yeah, it's a pain especially with all these photospinkfloyd
- just click near an image edgemonospaced
