I'm kind of glad but feel it's a shame that the entirety of political discourse has to be squeezed into a single bulging thread.
Would be good to have a US / US election politics thread and somewhere else to discuss the rest of the planet.

The thing I like about QBN is that it's pretty diverse when you really break it down (country of origin, race, personal style, music tastes religion, political motives... the diversity is there). Yet, there is one item we all (for the most part) have in common and that is our love for design / aesthetics / clever-visual-thinking.
I come from a pretty conservative yet not-so-conservative family. My Dad is a Christian 'pasture' if-you-will whereas my Mom is on her 4th marriage... it's a fucking nightmare yet I LOVE IT. :) I think QBN is kind of like that. It's almost a family bond based on the fact we all come from (again, for the most part) a design background. That's a bit of a 'family'-like bond to me. I can't choose who has an eye for good design... either you have it or you don't... ... just like I can't choose my family.
My point is that I don't mind the varying political differences. I won't 'throw you out' just cuz you disagree with me... ...just like family—I'm stuck with you and you're stuck with me. :)
