if you have an anti virus program installed, disable it before you install sierra.... it caused me all kinds of grief this morning.

It's fine.
Nominal update(s).
A few issues with notifications, styling on widgets, etc. BUT Adobe applications and all the standards are working just fine.

El Cap was super solid for me even with loads of third-party stuff and on older hot-rodded 2010 hardware, but I run a very tight ship and know what I'm doing.
Yosemite wasn't as good, mostly because of the "DiscoveryD" process, possibly the worst mistake I've ever suffered from Apple. And it didn't run as fast as El Cap.
So far Sierra seems really solid, with some minor cosmetic issues with a few apps. The new flagship features aren't really my cup of tea either, but there are lots of little things that are welcome.
I'd still recommend running any available updates for any non-Apple software you have before upgrading. Also doing a thorough backup before any major OS upgrade should be standard. Be mentally prepared for something do go wrong, don't upgrade in the middle of a big project, etc.

im super hesitant .. El Capitan has been a complete clusterfuck for me.. crashing constantly without allowing to force quit, weird shit happening all the time.
i would move to Sierra just to try and get away, but i cant afford the downtime
- it's true the newest OS works better on the newer machines ... my older iMac has random issues once in awhile, but the newer MBP from work is seamlessmonospaced

Installed it on my home iMac last night, and will see how it goes before diving in on the studio Mac. So far, so good. Nothing in particular stands out, although the login via Apple Watch is kinda nice. The universal clipboard has potential of being useful too.

Photoshop CC 2014 crashes 100% when saving for web. Backpedalling to El Cap until the bullshit settles. (If it settles.)
- upgrade CC not OSmoldero
- Why u using 2014? Pirated?qoob
- We use 2014. No crashes.monospaced
- Latest CC works fine with some minor bugs I've seen, mostly in After Effects display of composition titles when renaming.evilpeacock

anyone still having problems?
- Continuity1
None here. I'm running it on my mid-2014 MBP, and it performs solidly.
- What about with creative cloud?Hayoth
- Not that I can tell...skwiotsmith
- Any issues I've had with CC have come from CC itself, not so much the OS.Continuity

Assuming Sierra is OK to upgrade to at this point? Anyone have any issues with Sierra and Adobe CC 2017? I've been holding out but thinking it's probably time to update.
Green light?

if you have modern apps all updated you should have no problems. only users with legacy apps may encounter some issues

Ah, sounds good. I keep my Adobe apps up to date, but I always read scary stuff about OS X updates. It's been long enough though so I figured it should be ok to upgrade now. Thanks.
- My upgrade went smoothly. I don't have a super recent mac, either. 2014 iMac, 2011 iMac, 2013 MBP - all running Sierra fine so farGnash
- I'm on a 2015 MBP at home. Sounds like it should be fine.CincodeMayo

Anybody any good hacks for the terminal to disable all the crap bloatware that Apple include these days, I want to run a tight solid ship with none of the animation and transparency enabled if possible. Just get on to the computer and get things done in as quick as possible way. Workflow wise at least.
- Easily Googled; some may not work for older versions (http://www.defaults... I use Cocktail to diddle with that stuff myself.evilpeacock

I'm running it since launch on my Mac Pro and more recently on my hackintosh. No issues at all, but I guess it depends on the apps you use.
