Every social network would become a problem one way or the other because the goal of their creators is or become to make the more money as possible.
We would need an open source platform on a model like Wikipedia as a social network

WhatsApp co-founder tells everyone to delete Facebook.
In 2014, Facebook bought WhatsApp for $16 billion, making its co-founders — Jan Koum and Brian Acton — very wealthy men. Koum continues to lead the company, but Acton quit earlier this year to start his own foundation. And he isn’t done merely with WhatsApp — in a post on Twitter today, Acton told his followers to delete Facebook.
“It is time,” Acton wrote, adding the hashtag #deletefacebook. Acton, who is worth $6.5 billion, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. WhatsApp declined to comment.
Fuck off cunt...you're happy to take your billions from the company knowing full well what business they were in and then you tell people to "delete Facebook". Sorry mate, but get fucked. Hand back your billions and I may listen to you...hypocritical cockhead.

We should set up a Mastodon QBN instance.

Among many other reasons, (talk about, for example, fb bookmarklet button allowing the users to scrap the www, later the "like" object - the greatest growth hack ever conceived in silicon valley tracking almost every website in the webs)
.. Blame that guy Feltron or Felton or whatever his name is, who was obsessed with is personal data and designed some crazy (I must say pretty well crafted) infographics of personal daily habits and then landed in facebook HQ's as the "creator" of facebook timeline. This wasn't zuck's merely luck on capitalizing the world's data. It was a well planned team endeavour to capture - and then make profit from the most chunks of world data ever, made by the best-paid designers, psychologists and engineers in the world. It's very easy to understand where it's eventually going to. The richer, the more reach. - just a spontaneous rant.

even if everyone leaves facebook, they still got the data. just a question of linking it to the 'new' friendster and the can track anyone down. and sell it.
- people will forget about this is a week or twoGnash
- Why leave Facebook, change your identity, contact info, likes and dislikes, go off the gried, etc., presto... Problem solved.robotron3k

I'm locked in to fb. We need a social media platform that will import fb profiles as well as also log into things using the fb if we would have another non-zuck platform.

I find it amusing that people get so annoyed when they find out a free service that trades on information & sharing is using that data for something other than connecting them with old racist friends. People make careers and businesses from this platform but get hugely indignant if something either changes on the UX or they see an ad. The data breach is on this scale for sure.
Everyone shreds paper bank statements but pisses their personal info & passwords across multiple devices.

Why don't we all go around following and liking total random shit just to fuck with these algorithms.

- he waited to see how bad the damage is; it's substantial, so now he speaks. haha! he's as lame as the data leak. SMHchukkaphob
