it'll be something pretty generic - it's engraved by machine, isn't it?
like the old monospaced letters of old
Letter Gothic, that kind of thing.

It's tricky because computer fonts don't allow for open strokes, which is what a real 'engraving' font needs. I've been down this path before, and it didn't end well. So, you need to fake it.
Google for, hans says, 'engraving font', 'router font' or 'gravur font'.

as a by-the-by, isn't that kind of thing what DIN was based on. Or even the original DIN font?
