I am on day seven of a 30 day Twitter cleanse. I feel like a loser, a low information voter, an NPC, a normie. Just a regular chump living his life without the knowledge of which neighborhood in Culiacán is closed off and besieged by the Sinaloa Cartel or who holds a tactical advantage this week in the latest India-China border clash. I need one more hilarious hot take, just one more Waffle House brawl video. Is this real life? *sigh*
- Haha this is brilliant. Submit this to a short story contest somewhere lol_niko

Why even use FB?
- I need to know what color my aunt dyed her dog this weekscarabin
- just to plug my mixes tbhGardener
- my internet girlfriend likes to post her scantily clad photos there.PioneerDJ303
- so fb is good still for what it was created for: dog fetish and stalking your ex.sted

I hope so
- Doesn't matter now that Facebook, Instagram and Youtube are full of junk 1080x1920 short video crap of dancing, cats, bros, showoffs and useless novelty.shapesalad
- Unless substantial evidences were found that they are violating laws I don't think they should be banned. And I don't even like tiktokpango
- TikTok has been accused of illegal data gathering.CyBrainX

Facebook.
Instagram.
Youtube. All being pumped full of 1080x1920 TikTok style junk. Which feels like:
mixed with strictly come dancing, some random cooking show and some odd chinese factory worker that is super efficient at making some plastic thing on the factory conveyor belt.
Obviously they are trying to get kids back onto their platforms after the popularity of TikTok... but are they gearing it up, over junking your social media feed to then introduce a subscription fee to remove it? Youtube already has that... at this stage I would actually pay to have instragram ala 2017, when it was simply a feed of illustration & design from artists that I followed, and not endless junk.
- I've been thinking recently that social media looks like 'You've been Framed'.. but that was based on my memory of that show from the 1990sshapesalad
- Just watching that episode now..fuck.. social media is exactly like you've been framed! Cute dog, funny kid, car accident, some mishap etc..shapesalad
- TikTok = You've been framed. Utter junk.shapesalad
- At least in the 1990s it was a 30min episode once a week, not a endless 24/7 experience.shapesalad
- Channel 4's The Word also springs to mind and especially this legendary segment ... https://www.youtube.…Bluejam
- lol, hopefuls exactly!shapesalad
- watching this reminding me half the entertainment of beadle YBF as a 10 year old was tiny hand bingo between clips. lisa riley didn't stand a chancekingsteven

Meta launching a clone of Twitter named Threads:
- grafician-1
^ Not in the EU anyway...
"No Instagram Threads app in the EU: Irish DPC says Meta's new Twitter rival won't be launched here
Meta’s new Twitter rival wants to suck Instagram users’ data, including health, location, search history and sensitive information, into the new Threads service. Under EU data privacy rules, it faces higher hurdles than in the US or UK, where it is launching on Thursday."

"Threads, Meta’s Twitter rival, is drawing users at an astounding pace, amassing 10 million signups in just seven hours, according to co-founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg. But the highly-anticipated new service, which requires an Instagram account for onboarding, features an intriguing stipulation: Deleting a Threads account requires deleting the linked Instagram account.
In a ‘Supplemental Privacy Policy,’ Meta explains: “You may deactivate your Threads profile at any time, but your Threads profile can only be deleted by deleting your Instagram account.”
The rationale, Meta elaborates on the policy page, is that a Threads profile is part of the user’s Instagram account. The discovery of this stipulation has surprised many users."
- let me thread that on threader.shapesalad
- fuck social media. It's on par with junk food. Long live QBN!shapesalad
- can't wait for the accidental deletion of tons of instagram accounts by mistakegrafician

- It's way closer to Twitter than Instagram. I don't love Zuckerberg but I enjoy seeing another nail in Twitter's coffin.CyBrainX

I downloaded Threads knowing I wouldn't use it. Now I can't delete it without deleting IG?
I like IG cuz I'm a visual person who likes sharing and looking at nice things.
I don't want to type random things.
Never had an urge to sign up for twitter.
- Always read the fine print...OBBTKN
- you can delete the app. it's deleting the threads account that deletes the Instagram account.shapesalad
- For such a visual person you never post any images at all on this forum.PhanLo
- Yes he does, he always posts something hilarious in the QBN Mugs thread.Nairn
