If you don't actually need a whole pot at once, the Jura makes a fantastic cup of coffee, one at a time.
Makes espresso, lungo (long pour espresso, pretty much regular coffee) and cappuccino, up to 14oz.

I got tired of cleaning the screen on my french press, so threw out the lid and plunger and just use the glass pot as a cowboy coffee maker.
2 good swirl and settle sessions (5min) and almost all the grounds settle. I get no more grounds in my cup than with a regular press setup.
- French press is a long process, the screen is just an extra precaution. I do 4 min, swirl, scoop floating grounds then 8 min and the grounds fall to the bottom.palimpsest

I've had the same Cuisinart for over 20 years. This looks like a newer version but pretty much the same:
