Has anyone bought anything to make your life inside at home a little easier or more comfortable?
My wife forgot to get me a pair of the Lululemon men's ABC joggers, so picked up a couple pair of those so I'm not wearing sweat pants all day but don't have to put on jeans either. I don't plan on taking them off any time soon.
I've also picked up some new instrument plugins for Logic Pro that have been nice to sink my teeth into.
- What's the difference from sweat pants?dmay
- It's been in the 19°-22° range and sunny here for the last three weeks or so, so I've just been wearing shorts, and using the chaise longue on my balcony.Continuity
- Not too uncomfortable, all things considered.Continuity
- Sweat pants are too “day is over, time to relax” for me. These are more of athletic pants. It helps to have a routine M-F working from home, these are moremg33
- comfortable than jeans or something. More “professional” than sweats. LOLmg33

- i was gonna mock you with a bad pic of dude in lululemons, but those DO actually look quite goodhardhat
- Ha! They’re comfy as hell. Pricey, but to be honest I spent less on two pair than I would have on new spring clothes for work and such.mg33
- Btw... the “ABC” means anti ball-crushing. Seriously.mg33
- They look quite good, but I couldn't spend more than 100 dollars in those... But i'm cheap as hell, I'm not judging you :)dmay
- I picked up a pair of these bastards as house shoes and they are so goddamn comfy.
https://www.stegmann…elahon - ^ I bought some Toms to wear just inside the house. My furry house shoes are getting sour and they're more for winter.mg33

Also, after a month of mostly working at my desk in the basement, the bare walls are driving me crazy, so ordered a huge tapestry from Society 6 so I have something more inspiring to look at. It’s 108” x 88”
Been thinking about doing a DIY acoustic treatment to my walls to make it sound better in here, but my basement isn’t a perfect rectangle and since I only record direct or with software instruments, I don’t have any issues with mic’ing things live. Would be nice to have a better listening environment for mixing and recording. Been interested in getting pre-made acoustic treatments and covering them in fabric tapestries to have some art up.
- Nice guitars!Krassy
- Society 6 is cool; hadn't heard of it. Tnx for sharingKrassy

I'm already slightly depressed at the prospect of having to return to the office on a regular basis again. Which seems to be in around 3 weeks. Really enjoying the home office thing.
- Same. I am really enjoying the extra time with wife, son and table saw.lemmy_k
- Will you HAVE to return to the office? Think businesses may be a lot more accommodating and up for folk working from home...microkorg
- .. and people will be a lot more likely to take do so now. I saw a stat that hardly any men take advantage of being able to work from home usually as they...microkorg
- .. think it'll harm their career. Or maybe theyve just said it'll harm career in the past. real reason is they just want out the house away from kids ;)microkorg
- Alas not, they really keen getting everybody back at the office again despite we loving home officeNBQ00
- Ever considered working for yourself? I hear that's a big thing in this whole internet/ design/ programming field... :)yuekit
- I did that for many many years and I miss it. But now in this situation I’m glad I’m not self employed this year at leastNBQ00
- I cant wait to go back to the office.Al_dizzle
- I usually work in an Central LDN office of around 300 people. AC system, no windows openable. I do not want to go back at all.shapesalad
- 1 Person coughing in the office, and it'll spread around like crazy. Open plan, toilet opens directly into the office space. Yuk.shapesalad
- if the kids are in school - i'll work from home anyday.umbee54

We now cook our own desserts, and its more delicious and natural than the one we used to buy at the grocery store. We found some recipes that are easy and quick to do. We will probably keep doing this from now on. Thank you covid-19!

Does anyone else have fleeting thoughts of worrying about what you'd need to get in order if you felt pretty sure you were going to die from this virus? Like, making sure people know what to do with all your stuff? Your spouse having passwords to your computers, devices, etc?
I woke up a couple Friday nights ago with my mind spinning about that stuff. Luckily my wife and I have a lot of the big stuff buttoned up - life insurance, trusts for our kids, estate plan, all the directives for the family that would take our kids if something happened to us, etc. But I started thinking through the stuff like how my wife would access all our family photos in Lightroom... making sure she has the passwords to all my Apple stuff... all my own banking stuff... who I'd want to get my computer and all my music files someday, access to retirement fund stuff and so much more.
Do any of you actively organize all this stuff and keep it safe in case something happened to you?
- Nope. God no, Nope!
.
But now I'm wondering.Nairn - Working on it. Was discussing this all long before COVID. Like, my wife has ZERO idea how to find my Bitcoin. I had it before we met.nb
- It's pretty surreal to really take stock of all that. We have a fire safe, I keep thinking of a sealed envelope that says "Open if Michael is dead."mg33
- There's an app in this.Nairn
- Would need to be one fucking secure app. Hacking in would get you lots of info and access!!!microkorg
