- Well how many artists do you know that are good at selling their art? 0.1%?
Right, the rest will got into NFTs thinking they'll get lucky richgrafician - WHATS THE ADVICES?? :-oBennn
- NFT's = The Go Fund Me for Artists/Designers... Change my mind.jonny_quest_lives
- Have no problem with artists getting paid ofc, the problem is the huge energy toll required!grafician
- even if we ignore the ecological impact, this is a fucking lottery, and it's one with zero regulation/curation.jonny_quest_lives
- mass art theft/copyright infringement with people stealing people's art and minting it as their own NFT.jonny_quest_lives
- all on the premise/delusion that an NFT will validate authenticity in some mannerjonny_quest_lives
- i already regret minting a a piece.. it seems too hyped...wonder how many fake profiles on twitter are telling lies.neverscared
- on opensea..neverscared

- yes the fee was 65$ last evening... now its 105$ ....! fuck datBennn
- Yeah, not sure I would've set up the collection at that price. But it is worth remembering it's a one off fee so keep checking the price. I didn't pay anywherefadein11

Antimotion, you'd said in a side comment
"I post different styles on 3 different sites - 3D animation, Hand-drawn animation, and static illustration..."
Do you go under 3 different guises in the three sites?
Reason I'm asking as I'd like to mint some serious work under my own name/nickname but also I've got an idea for a daft project that i'd do 'anonymously'.
------
Guys on Rarible,
Does MetaMask wallet work on this site? It's not on their list https://rarible.com/connect- Yeah on two of them I go by LASERGUN FACTORY and on makersplace, just my name. I know other folks who go the route you mentioned. I've had luck on 2 out of 3antimotion
- I have a very small network, but one platform I actually know the owner and he's a serious curator, so actually knows everyone on the site. More personal.antimotion
- Not sure about rarible.antimotion
- thanks for the info much appreciatedmicrokorg

This escalated quickly we are now at automated Bot Copyright infringement...
"Hello all,
This afternoon, someone tagged a NFT account on my Spinosaurus painting.
As such, I have deleted all my art tweets. I am reposting them here with watermarks.
It's a bit of a gamble for me so retweets are very much appreciated and help me get my art back out there.
I am not pleased that I have to take this sort of scorched earth policy with my artwork, frankly I am livid.
But given the circumstances it seems like the only morally defensible and the most secure option.
I'll be adding watermarks to my work on other sites as well
I am particularly saddened by this because I believe that open access to scientific art is hugely beneficial, and I really wanted to keep my pieces as Creative Commons works. Please contact me if you'd like to get a unwatermarked version of my paintings and we can discuss"

- 'marble cards' lololmicrokorg
- Aren't the marble cards the equivalent of a picture of a mural and the NFTs the exif data of that picture? In any case the NFT is neither the picture nor mural.palimpsest
- Marble cards are profiting from providing a platform to make money using other people's work in their cards, like printing other people's work on t-shirts.palimpsest
- But technically the NFTs are NOT the cards themselves, so it's not even the cards that are being sold.palimpsest
- So Marble Cards can argue that they are not printing t-shirts and selling them. They are more like Pinterest and sell NFTs as a side hustle.palimpsest
- I would love for Amazon Prime to take them court so we can see what people are really buying when they are buying NFTs.palimpsest
- Pretty sure the ppl that buy the tech bros are thinking they also own the artwork by now LOLgrafician
- I think the emperor has no clothes and he's auctioning off his greatest outfits to the clamor of the people.palimpsest
- This is exactly why NFTs make senseESKEMA

NFTs are capitalism gone wild. They're the ugly result of the destructive desire to own things that don't need to be owned, purely for the sake of owning them. They're tech bros planting flags just because they can, and demanding of themselves no further justification, reasoning, or reflection. They're pure unadulterated ego crystallised, digitised, and monetised.
- Old man yells at cloudnb
- I don't think they own things just for the sake of owning them. They trade in the goal of getting maximum gains. It's capitalism at its best.palimpsest

This NFT thing is insane. $69 for a collage of previous work is truly bizarre..."The auction’s winner doesn’t get much: a digital file, mostly, plus some vague rights to present the image."
But the modern art world has been insane for a long time. This does not seem that crazy when compared to a Damien Hirst shark in formaldehyde....I saw a documentary where the owner was saying that it was leaking and they had to call the artist to try to fix it....
What I think this represents is that the insanity is moving from the IRL world to the digital world. I am not sure that is a good thing but it is happening anyway.
There is a primal need to collect that is combining with people that have a lot of digital currency....I think there are a lot of average people who went all in on BTC or ETH early and have hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in digital wallets (and some with much more) and they are itching to make it do something.
this is a great read about it https://speculations.substack.co…
This is a statement by that group, the group that grew up with digital, that is saying 'you think a shark in formaldehyde is crazy?' how about a collage of someones artwork over 13 years that you cannot even see for $69 M....fuck off....ill show you crazy

Don't even know what NFT's are, but there it is on reddits front page...
- NBQ000
- NO it's NOT $69 mil it's a number of ETH! If that guy Beeple tries to exchange that ETH into $ he will crash the market!grafician
- $69M will crash the market, are you sure?NBQ00
- $147bil market cap. more like a minor blipfadein11
- even more, should've been £147bilfadein11
- how does 69m crash a 200B market??
You're clueless.ESKEMA - @ESKEMA Well you clearly have no clue how a ponzi worksgrafician
- But no, until this guy cashes out that $60 mil ($9 mil were fees for Christie's) he actually has ZERO $grafician
- you're social feed must be sweetESKEMA
- your*ESKEMA
- do you still have a social feed? wow
dude youre mostly active in these crypto threads, anything else to add of value to our sweet little forum?grafician - nothing you'd likeESKEMA
- @graf, why so hostile on all of this? everyone knows it's a bubble, that's blatantly obvious. But I'm afraid the tech behind it is here to stay.fadein11
- It will mature. Calm down.fadein11
- @fade I'm pretty hostile when I see a sea of dumb ppl trying to boost some trash like it's the holy grail ffsakegrafician
- we literally got rid of Trumpmania, now it's crypto mania all over the news damn!grafician
- lol true. It will pass. It has happened before with the last bitcoin boom and bust. It is interesting though. The art world always jumps onto the latest trend.fadein11
- But I don't think most of the people here who are giving it a go are taking it anywhere nearly seriously as you.fadein11
- I do think artists, as in real artists, will find interesting ways of using this.fadein11
- QBN is really a little bubble, but take a look outside man, twitter is literally filled with "NFT drops", it's crazy out here, it's getting really ridiculousgrafician
- and I've posted an article, the real money is in the coin exchanges and those NFT marketplaces, the rest of the "artists" are literally getting scammedgrafician
- so if you see the people you know, friends etc. getting scammed are you just going to sit there and let them get hurt in anyway, or try to give a heads up?grafician
- fair enough, I don't know of anyone getting scammed so in a different place.fadein11
- well all the artists that mint NFTs need to buy ETH, pay gas, etc. so they use real $ to upload artwork with no real expectation of getting back anythinggrafician
- so they make the bubble larger but with real hard earned cash while the crypto bros just mine more ETH aka funny moneygrafician
- Anyway, I haven't seen not one single real art collector so far in all this buying NFTs, all the buyers are crypto bros paying with ETH as in funny moneygrafician
- I paid $20 and have spent a few days having some fun on there. No minting fees. I certainly don't expect to make a lot of money. But I am interested in it.fadein11
- I mean as an artist try to cash out a few million $ and see what the taxes are for that lolgrafician
- There was nothing more glorious than setting up an account / payment etc with one click and zero personal information. That alone made the experience worthwhilefadein11
- yup that's how it feels to login into something worthless - that's why you need to give a lot of info to a bank so you can have access to some money to buy foodgrafician
- get into carpentry fade! get into pottery man, get into making something with your hands, that's real, that's artgrafician
- I do. I paint. Jesus. you have a lot of anger in you. perhaps you need to do something with your hands.fadein11
- Wtf do you know about me. Have a wank or something.fadein11

"Christie's happy to announce that MetaKovan, the founder and financer of Metapurse (the largest NFT fund in the world) was the winning bidder of Beeple's 'EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS' for $69.3m (42329.453 ETH)"
You don't say!
- lolKrassy
- Yoooo Bennn pull out bro, they taking yo money to pay Beeple!grafician
- so like I said in a comment, it's just "coin laundry" lolgrafician
- good luck to Beeple trying to cash out and pay taxes on that kind of moneygrafician
- Why would he a hard time selling it and paying taxes on it? He can gradually & partially sell it anywayNBQ00
