I'm tired of designers being the only people required to have to walk through portfolios, wireframes, working files, and concepts when applying for jobs. Why don't product managers, marketing managers, developers, etc. need to go in-depth as much as designers?!?!? When you think about it, nobody else needs to jump through as many hoops as designers when it comes to applying for jobs.
You want to see case studies, working files, wireframes, etc. Do you want me to just show you how to do it all while I'm at it. I'm often finding myself asking the product managers the same questions and they get so defensive. I mean, they don't really do much anyway but take credit for design work so I thought it made sense to have the head of product walk me through his thinking for a recent project

There are three sides to every story: your side, my side, and the truth.
And no one is lying.
- And then there's the 5th dimension whereby your story is merely a fragment of the simulation.shapesalad
- How can there be an objective truth to a story? Stories are inherently subjective.mort_
- Reality is entirely subjective.mort_
- People lie about their own side of the story all the time.i_monk

Why is legalising cannabis a big progressive move these days while at the same time we've been tightening restrictions on tobacco and smoking for years?
I understand the potential medicinal properties of cannabis but surely smoking it adds a bunch of negative health consequences – these are always discussed for tobacco but I rarely see enter the arguments on cannabis.
- Tobacco's necessarily and inherently physiologically-addi... Cannabis is not. Both should be on sale and taxed accordingly.Nairn
- Personally, I think there should be a distinction between a raw product (tobacco leaf) and a fabricated product (a cigarette). As too other legal drugs.Nairn
- If the UK legalised Cannabis, it would make a huge amount in taxes. So, if tobacco and booze are on sale - why not cannabis?Nairn
- Also, when legalised, as the markets have shown in America, it leads to safer forms of consumption. Edibles and vapes/etc aren't easy to come by here.Nairn
- Are there studies on the health effects of smoking cannabis? Does it cause lung cancer etc? I genuinely don't know. Just interested.BaskerviIle
- Less so than tobacco - perhaps only because you need only smoke less. Any inhaled combusted material is going to fuck lungs up, regardless.Nairn
- Agree that safer forms make sense. Just feels like smoking is the primary form for now. And it flies in the face of progress with tobacco lawsBaskerviIle
- I'm old-school, so smoke leaf/hash, but honestly - the US-led vape/etc thing's really becoming A Thing here. I know of a few converts.Nairn
- ^ those US vapes are good, I smuggle them down into Mexico, the entire country of MX is legalizing in spring, no more smuggling soonGuyFawkes
- I’m sure if one smoked as much pot as a smoker does cigarettes then risk of lung cancer would be similarGnash
- Drugs, cigs, everything should be freely available. And health care should be free. However we should have ID cards, and which each purchase of drugs/cigs, yourshapesalad
- healthcare budget is reduced... So if you want to drink and smoke yourself into a cancerous mess, so be it, but don't expect state to pick up tab. Welcome to geshapesalad
- get 3rd party private medical care.shapesalad
- If only there were a way to make smokers pay for their supposed increased healthcare costs over the span of their shorter lives.Nairn
- There are still WAY more restrictions on cannabis than tobacco and no one proposes banning any use of tobacco.CyBrainX
- Risk of lung cancer with joints likely higher as there's no filter just a roach ;)microkorg
- But in places where its now legal arent people moving away from smoking it, choosing to vape or buy jelly/choc etc?microkorg
- I saw some talk mid last year about UK Gov legalising weed etc to help pay for Covid debt.microkorg

Start a band called 'Rare Recording' or similar, call your song names 'The Beatles', 'David Bowie' and other huge artists.
Upload your tunes to Spotify etc and watch all those pennies roll in from streams.

The pyramids of Egypt have been built by aliens. There’s no other way to explain the majestic feat in engineering without any sophisticated tools and machines.

- Not even Europeans could’ve built the pyramids. The ancient Egyptians were either much further in knowledge and technology than we thought or aliens.NBQ00
- There is so much math and precision in building all the pyramids and other things it’s just insane. On top of all the physical feat of actually building it.NBQ00

We still have no idea and no solid proof how the pyramids were built and we couldn‘t replicate them today with standard tools like they had. We probably couldn‘t even do it even if we used cranes.
It‘s not just piling up blocks of stones but there are chambers and passages inside.

Is it possible bindegal is a “project” account designed to highlight the absurdity of whatever thread he posts in?
For instance, he ruined the “racist?” thread and got it canceled, as well as the muslim thread. Good riddance to both, honestly.
I wouldn’t eat half the crap he posts in the food thread.
Is he a legitimately unaware borat or a next-level troll superhero?

- I assume you're being facetious, but the one thing I've never understood since being a kid is - why would anyone want to be famous?Nairn
- I mean stop-in- the-street famous.
I can't imagine anything more disrupitvely awful in my life.Nairn - +1 especially if you are famous for that one thing from decades ago and have all the fame but none of the money to go with it. Child actors. Must be brutal.monNom
