- Why is the website underlined? Why is the date an afterthought? It’s super important.monospaced

I lived in New Orleans from 2003 until 2011. I've been to 12 New Orleans Mardi Gras. One thing I am really NOT trying to do is to replicate Louisiana or New Orleans culture in Sacramento.
When New Orleans does Mardi Gras, they're not trying to pretend to be another city. They are coming out with pride and joy about being who they are, where they are. That's exactly what we need in downtrodden Sacramento.
Our parade is going to be full of Sacramento things, with some trappings of Mardi Gras-- mainly beads, floats, and brass bands. We'll have local high schools, burning man shit, local dance troops, aztec latino dancers, low rider cars, and etc.

I'll second the idea of making those logos smaller. You could also make the gold section on the bottom smaller, the art bigger and I would move the white type on top off the Mardi Gras hat.

Currently your hierarchy looks like:
1. Illustration
2. Title
3. A Sacramento mardi gras event
4. Date
5. Location
Is that what you think is right? This is good advice. In this world of nonstop information being plugged into our ears/eyes 24/7 you gotta realize, the average person won't spend more than a few seconds looking at your creation. A hierarchy gets you to think about if there is one thing you want to remember, what is it? Put that first, or second. You are communicating visually. What do you want to communicate? Don't say everything. Just covered that, they won't remember everything.

Issue is, if i make the art bigger, there's no place for me to put my partners' logos. there will be additional information about the parade in the gold section at the bottom. Like a map and stuff, so it's better if i keep that space.

In short, the City of Trees Parade is a spectacular cultural showcase, celebrating Sacramento.
Appreciate the strategies Nairn!
Gonna make it teensy and squint at it. will think about padding, but if I make up a version with bleeds it shouldn't be an issue, right?
the fucking logos in the bottom right are driving me nuts. the bear one is wider than the rest and has that star thing off to the left and i can't figure out how to center it. not looking for advice but I've been scooting them around for like 20 minutes.
