Primrose Hill has some nice views of the city.
Greenwich park and Cutty Sark. You can take a boat there from Westminster.

I suppose the questions are - how long are you here for, what sort of family do you have, what sort of things do you like to do? Also, whereabouts are you staying? If you're in town, everywhere's easy enough to get to - but if you're staying out in ths ticks, you'd best consider your journey times.
- Obvious ones to start off, if you have kids, are The Natural History and Science Museums. Not sure if they're too obvious as suggestions...Nairn
- ..but iof they are, make a day of it and go visit the V&A too - they're all in spitting distance of one another out in South KensingtonNairn
- The British Museum is good for seeing things like mummies. That stuff fascinated me when I was a kid.Chimp
- Planetarium in the Royal Observatory was on my listCalderone2000
- As was the science museum!Calderone2000
- If you go to the British Museum, you could pop across the road and check out traditional art store, L.Cornelissen & SonNairn
- I'm sure there was another one around there too (not Russell & Chapple which is also nearby) which was also worth a peek, but I can't think what it isNairn
- You could also walk 10 mins and a few blocks and take a tour around the Freemason's Hall (main masonic lodge)

M&M World obviously
- wtf IS that with tourists? I've never been to that bloody place, but every last tourist seems to have, seemingly, from the bags I see on The Tube.Nairn
- No idea, I always see tourist with bags. I assume it's just a big sweet shop. They must be making a loss and justifying the location for brand recognitionBaskerviIle

Walk around Brick Lane.
On a Saturday, either Broadway market (off London Fields) for over priced but good street food and interesting stalls... or Bohemia Place market next to Hackney Central rail station...

After sir John, pop over to the royal academy for the summer show. Most of it is absolutely terrible but you’re guaranteed to live about 2% of it. The (oh so pretentious) crowd are worth going for alone.

The Courtauld Gallery has a great collection stuff.

The river is a good way to see a lot - especially if it's hot. You could get the clipper from London bridge to Greenwich. Or head west from Westminster to Richmond.
If you're at London Bridge, Bermondsey St has some nice food and there's the Bermondsey beer mile + streetfood market.
