Denmark couldn't qualify for the 1992 euro cup.
But war broke out in Yugoslavia and they couldn't go, so Denmark qualified as the best team that wasn't qualified.
They crushed everyone and won the Euro 92!Their coach then, German Sepp Piontek later hired to coach the Turkish National team. He had a pretty bad streak and he lost his first 15 matches, after about another year without much success he was replaced.
But during this time he created the backbone of the national team from young players.
His assistant coach Fatih Terim became Galatasaray's coach couple of years later and they won't the UEFA cup in 2000 with most of of those young players that he integrated.
And in 2003 world cup Turkey finished the cup in the 3rd place with the same group of players that he had discovered. The highest 2 achievements that Turkish football ever reached.
