A run through some of the massacres Mexico has gotten away with. Quite horrifying.
YouTube video description:
"The straw that broke the camels back . We are not afraid anymore."
"Tlatelolco, June 10, Aguas Blancas, Acteal, Atenco, Nursery ABC Tlatlaya, Ayotzinapa; An accumulation of violence, murders and disappearances, have raised the anger that flows through the veins of the hurting mothers, siblings and friends who have lost their partners, their children. The most affected are no longer afraid."
- Yeah sea_sea, those narcos don't fuck around, they are ruthless and apparently can do it in total impunity, so fucked upgeorgesIII
- they can buy off just about anybody, back in the day, they offered to pay off Mexico’s record $102 billion USD foreign debtmoldero
- to be left alonemoldero
- that was probably one of the only times it didnt workmoldero
- crazy "Ferrari moneys"moldero
- not sure what's worse, the narcos or the government working with the narcos. :(sea_sea

But if it's legal in Mexico...that doesn't do anything to put a dent in a group that's getting rich selling it here does it?
I mean, I'm all for legalizing some drugs but are you going to make it legal for companies to manufacture and sell hard drugs like that? Roll down to the corner store and pick up a six pack of meth?;)
- legalizing doesn't work. socially it will hurt more. people can't control it now, how the fuck will then when its okay to buy it.akrokdesign

I wonder how many people here actually supports Mexican drug business while being so conscious about not supporting non-fair trade coffee, produce etc...
Maybe there's not any here but I know people who consume about a pound of white powder a year while buying local produce because they believe every bit of effort makes an impact.- Nope. Never contributed anything to the cocaine trade. Consistently opposed it for years, in word and deed.mikotondria3
- It's so obviously one of the most evil enterprises in the world, from the plantation to the end-using twat who won't shut up.mikotondria3
- The fucking misery it causes all-round is so unconscionable, I'd give my life for this stuff to not exist.mikotondria3
- excellent point. and just because you only smoke weed doesn't get you off the hook.HijoDMaite
- ... unless you're Canadian. I doubt there is any Mexican grass in Canada.nb

92,489 – 100,971 violent civilian deaths as a result of the conflict. June 2009
- ghandolf0
There are fewer deaths from people TAKING drugs, than there are from people trying to stop drug smuggling. Please stop trying to save us from ourselves. Legalize it, tax it, distribute it, and stop this madness.
- moldero0
not meth or coke, but if they legalized at least their shitty pot they could use the tax $$ to help enforce the laws on the hard crap, while the cartels loose profits on 1/3 of their exports
- doesn't work. i know what your going for. there so much other stuff to the whole circle. ex. prostitution. trafficking. etc.akrokdesign

crazy shit going on down there
- moldero0
I do hand it to the cartel down here though, they don't mess with civilians, only cops and government officials who get in their way.
2 years ago when I moved down here to Culiacan it was pretty rough, remember that bank robbery scene in the movie "heat"? I would hear crap like that almost once a week. since the military took over, these guys pretty much scattered temporarily to other parts of Mexico, they will be back since Culiacan is an important route from Columbia to the US. Im hoping to be back in the US or Japan before that happens because it gets pretty nuts.

Just finish building that giant wall around Mexico!

I believe Mexico has made several drugs legal in small quantities to help break up the cartels. Not sure if it's working...
