Win ME - Shit
Win XP- Good
Vista - Shit
7 - Perfect
8 - Shit
9 - ...Odds are that 9 is going to be good. Or just 8 with a start button.
- I am guessing it'll be 8+start. Maybe we'll be lucky and get new colors!formed
- Win2K was pretty good, as well.Continuity
- I prefer XP over 7albums
- ya... i like xp as well....pango
- funny some old software runs faster on XP than 7pango
- Graphic resource hogalbums
- yeh xp was solid. loved it. felt a lot more responsive too. 7 is good though.Hombre_Lobo
- yup, XP and 2000 were greatformed

7 wasn't really that different to Vista though, it just took that long for companies to ship working drivers and stop shipping crappy underpowered laptops.

I kind of like WIndows 8 , it's very stable, hasn't crashed once since I started using it over a year ago, manages its resources very good, the task manager is very extensive now and is very easy to analyze .. Just use a Classic Shell to bring the start menu back and it's fine. What don't you like about it ?
- srhadden0
I hated the way it was originally designed though, no way I'm not using a regular desktop
- benfal990
i dont really care about the OS anymore.. In the past I cared but not now. Iam always in Chrome and Adobe's products and I use Adobe Bridge to browse my files. So I dont really care about Windows or OSX. And everything is the same on Mac and PC these days, the exact same softwares.
The war is over.
- < only took me time to get used to switch between cmd and ctrlmekk

Windows 8 is kinda growing on me slowly, still prefer OSX but miles though, in terms of stability and creative work flow, its just way ahead.
Maybe 9 will address stability and UX not focus so much on UI.

Don't give a rip as long as they detach the goddamn IE version from the OS. IE8 and 9 would be long dead by now if they hadn't made it a requirement to upgrade the OS to get the newer versions.

I am looking forward to it, honestly. I like W8 w/ touchscreens, W7 is fine for desktop. I means I get to wait another year or so before I upgrade anything!

Windows 7 or 8 doesnt crash anymore, i cant remember the last time i've got a freezed screen or anything else.

I don't mind Windows 8 but Microsoft needs some new ideas. People just care about Metro or whatever it's called now.

^ yup, that's Windows 8.1 coming out 8th of April
- zaq0
they should have announce it yesterday.
best April fool ever
- vaxorcist0
maybe it is an april fools!
...wasn't OS9 the last version of the old-school Mac OS, before Steve cam back and they went unix?!?!
But really, all we need is for the OS... even Microsoft's OS to SIMPLY work, be clearly setup and reliable, the complexity should be in the applications, not the OS.... XP was fine, 7 was ok, why bother with so-called "innovation" that makes things more complex instead of simpler?!?!?
(maybe just corporate MS priorities, rather then user experience priorities...)

Bringing back the start button shows a lack of imagination. It isn't hard to adapt the idea of the start button (and its menu) to Metro's tile-based interface, but it seems they didn't even try; splice a chunk of Vista back in, ship it out.
- It was overwhelming user request. Most users are not technically literate nor like change.ETM

3.1 was fine to me
- oey0
Last Windows I used was Win 2000 or something...
Professional.

I hope they don't cave to bringing back the start button. The whole interface is the start button.
