Wow. More big news. BTC Relay is live.
As a smart contract developer, this is a HUGE fucking deal.
"Using BTC Relay, Ethereum developers can implement a “Pay with Bitcoin” button in their Ethereum-based decentralized applications, allowing Bitcoin holders to interact with smart contracts and decentralized applications on the Ethereum platform. "
Game over.

Hey Rabbit-- do you know any good books where I could learn more about block chain and smart contracts? I'm basically a layperson on this stuff, but I am interested...

I'm very new at investing (but very experienced at gambling). A friend convinced me to try my hand at ETH trading. After about two months of trading, I'm up almost 29%.
Booya!

Well, if it's been so fundamentally hacked, perhaps Ethereum's done for?
I'm now a little bit glad I didn't manage to buy my paltry 10 ETH the other week....

They're changing the programming to stop the hacker from stealing more ether and then another change to allow victims to reclaim their stolen ether.
Glad I didn't buy at $14 like I was considering.

Was it just one 'exchange's' mechanics that were compromised, or the entire underlying schema of Ether?
I think the former, from all that I've read this past day or so, but I'm too ignant of wtf Ethereum actually IS to draw a conclusion.
