I tend to belabor over design. I also tend to martyr myself (if I answer honestly). I don't see these two things as good behaviors. There's gotta be a better way to work + be a little more confident about my work, or I wouldn't nitpick my own work. But I don't know.

No. Well, yes. I have to admit it: I'm a perfectionist.
For me, it's the best or nothing at all.
If things go badly, I can't be bothered,
but I have a good feeling about this interview.
Seems to me like it's gone pretty well.
We've touched on a lot of subjects,
a lot of things to think about, for all of us.- Good answer.bklyndroobeki

I remember actually getting this question once.
I always thought this sort of cliche came from TV or movies. But it turned out that inept idiots who for some reason were in the positions to hire new people said this too.My reply was, "I believe I do not have any weaknesses related to the job I am interviewing for. If I said I was a weak art director, would you still hire me?"
I got hired.

I've actually learned to take this concept of being a perfectionist and position it as my weakness is between being a perfectionist and a pragmatic MVP'er when it comes to product design.

My greatest weakness is that I expect too much from QBN on a daily basis

Most designers I'd say would consider perfectionism as a weakness. Speaking for myself, I have to have someone tell me when something's done or else I'll refine it forever and I'm rarely happy until my client is. Is that a weakness? Perhaps. It goes away over time, you learn to let certain things go so you can focus your energy on bigger and better projects and tasks.

I've been told saying perfectionism is a noob answer. Say something that is relevant to the job, something that you would be gaining from the position. Not something glaring either. If you get this question, you are likely dealing with an inexperienced interviewer.

I don't think is is a weakness, per se, but it can be. There are deadlines and budgets, so there are times when you just have to get the job done. This is what I would expect as part of the answer (and yes, I do and will ask this question when hiring).
I want to know what they think of themselves, whether they can self reflect and grow. If not, then I would assume they have an ego problem.

To all you who use "I'm a perfectionist..." and think this is the perfect answer, this is what you sound like:
If I were interviewing someone, I'd call people on that BS answer. A better candidate will have actually thought of their weaknesses, and then come up with a concrete plan to improve on those areas of their lives. The best person is constantly working on self-improvement, and this can only happen when one recognizes their weaknesses.
If you say a weakness that is actually a strength (like striving for perfectionism) what you're really saying is, "I'm not confident enough to assess myself and be honest about myself." A smart manager would see right through this. Luckily, there aren't too many smart managers.

Legs and asses are my weaknesses.
Is that your receptionist over there? I don't know how I'll get any work done at this company with her walking around like that.
Um, yes, I suppose I could leave the premises. I appreciate the opportunity.

How about this script?
"...what is my greatest weakness? Well... I'm sure I'll always have some room for self-improvement, none of us are perfect right, I'll have to get back to you on that... But I do know that whenever I feel I have a weakness that affects my job and ability to grow as a leader, I immediately address it. I am always trying to stay on top of trends and learn new technologies. For example, I recently started to ..."
