Man as I web developer who gets bullshit directions from clients all the time I am not gonna assume its all this guys fault as something like the size u should have seen that from the very start.
if he has done the work at least pay him for his time...its like going to a restuarant and after eating all the food saying u dont want to pay as it was bad.
man I hate clients like you!

(Dec 29 05, 00:27)Why, not having any web design skill at this point, should I have known that? I asked him what size would work & he said 1024 would be good. If I had known otherwise I would have acted accordingly in the template design. And I'm not exactly a typical client, I'm a fellow designer & I never give bullshit direction as I've been on the receiving end of it myself. End of story.
My initial excitement at finally having a website overshadowed the gut-feeling issues I had; asking for opinions only confirmed that. Plus when I asked him for a certain thing, he was usually late in replying and rarely did what I actually asked for.
Think what you will about where blame should rest. I supposed I am somewhat to blame for my naivete in the hiring process and lack of web savvy. Though that is what I hired him for, his knowledge & ability. I simply expect the highest quality from people, as I expect it from myself. I will pay him for his time, he really is a nice guy, but he won't be getting referrals from me. Nuff said.
