i agree that there are similar things that exist...
the idea for this is that an author can make a little money while wirting the book...
the fee would be a one time fee, pay 5$, get all the updates. after it's more complete, pay 10$, get all the updates. when it's done, maybe pay 20$ and get the paper book.
so the idea is that some people will take a chance and buy it while it's cheap and the author doesn't have to wait till they are done to make an money...
yeah, its weird...but would it work?
(not just for technical books, any kind of book)
