    I still don't understand, sorry..

    You have track number 5 of MR X as a single, and also on MR X album wich contains Track 1, 2, 3 , 4 and 5.
    You only want track number 5 once. if this is the case, why are you copyying it twice?

    I also don't think this is an itunes related problem.

    If you have one track X and you have it in 4 different playlists, they will all link to a single file.

    If you have duplicates of your track X file, then erase the extra mp3s and you should be fine.

    Unless you have lets say a Main Mix (usually longer for djs to mix in and out) a radio edit (shorter version, almost no intro or outro) and other versions of the same track..
