oooooo! i've done this a few times. and highly recommend. best way so far, started in LA, drove to Yosemite, camped for a few days...then drove through death valley (awesome, but drive at night (we didnt and almost passed out))...the night sky is amazing in these parts... then drove through Utah (which is my ultimate favorite state to drive through), checked out Bryce Canyon and stayed/hiked at Zion national park (incredible places)...drove to colorado and hung out for a few days, hiked and wandered a lot...driving through kansas is a trip, super flat and lots of farms...then the rest is kinda boring, except it was during the cicada season and those monsters were everywhere... PA is pretty, hilly and lots of farms as well..then it gets a bit depressiing in NJ (traffic, pollution and reality sinks in)... mmm. i miss the west coast. enjoy the trip!
