They didn't use force because using these guns is the safest way to protect themselves while avoiding physical contact.
I don't know if anyone could've calmed this man down, but what they did was NOT needed, at least from what I can see.
They lied about at least 2 things:
- that the man was still threatening after the first taze. he was clearly on the ground and in pain.
- that there were only 3 officers present. There were at least 4.
