    It will only see through some clothes. The basic principle is that it exposes itself to different wavelengths of light, of which common materials have no pigment and are therefore see-through. For example, with good infrared lighting an infrared camera will not see cotton clothing. The camera above is a CCD which naturally recognizes infrared. In Japan, the national swim team changed the material of their suits to combat this. So you're privacy isn't completely gone people :)

    I assume this system never shows the original image without first running it through the software that 'hides body detail and exposes threats'.
